Make some sort of program where the students have until tues-wed week of game week to opt in for tickets or if not offer the tix to High Schools and Pop warner teams in the county/area to give them the tickets and fill those sections with local players and families

It is friggin ridiculous

This needs to be done like yesterday imo...

Last week they could barely fill two sections to watch the #2 team in the country, and this week they literally didn't even fill one. So embarrassing. The student body has always had a large contingent of out-of-state rich kids, but they seem even more apathetic than they used to be.

They should definitely do this. But I also don't blame kids that age not wanting to travel 45 minutes to a "home" football game when they want to party and have a good time.

The problem is the kids are majority rich northeasterners or from some other state/country with rich families. Most of the kids who go there are not from Miami or even from Florida and don't care about the team. It was also like this when I went there but it seems like the school has over proritized rich socialites over the hometown crowd for years now. I also feel the school isn't in tune with the local community like it once was. Mostly everyone from Miami goes to FIU, MDC, UF or FSU.

Your idea is great but they won't do it smh.

There is no excuse about the student body being small either. The student section isn't large compared to other schools either so you're telling me they still can't show up? It's kinda crazy but based on the type of crowd and vibe on campus, not too surprising.

I've been saying it for years, the young generation isn't into watching sports like they were before.
True. In college now and I only know like 4 guys that truly watch and understand what they see on Saturday or Sunday. It sucks and I don't really know why that's the case. Maybe something to do with regional differences. Tons of Jersey/New York people just are kind of indifferent about it and that makes up a seemingly disproportionate amount of the student body

My daughter goes to a school with an on-campus stadium and they see the same thing. Only difference is they show up in the first quarter and if they're losing, it's half full by the second quarter. 99% of them walk to the stadium too, not get bused 45min...

This is a good idea. Get the local schools more involved with the program. Get them more involved and excited about the Canes. After all, these are the people we seem to be struggling to recruit and keep home. If the student body isn’t going to come support the #2 team in the nation, they never will.
