Miami stays at No. 2 spot in this weeks AP Poll

Been a weird team to watch for sure

That game yesterday was kind of a beat down though

I was more surprised the poll people had the guts to drop them from #1 all the way to unranked in the first place
Oklahoma was another team that hadn't really done anything to deserve their ranking. So many teams have climbed the rankings by beating terrible, or initially over rated teams. The only reason I'd be mildly surprised Texas beat them would be because of how bad they looked against Florida, the team we manhandled. Not because I thought OU was actually the #5 team in the country.

Huh?

They were unranked and then just slapped around the #5 team in the country
Its hard at this point in a season to know which teams are overrated and which are underrated. We are all victims of preseason hype.

Was OU deserving of their ranking because they beat Auburn and Michigan, or were those teams overrated?

This kind of debate can go on for days becasue so much of is subjective.

And this is why so many of the SEC teams are ranked highly pre season..... Guarantees more of them remain ranked to the end.

What's his point in talking about the next 7 weeks of the schedule and their ranking on 10/15? They're not ranked now or they are ranked now but that won't matter at the end of the year or when the game is played, however you choose to evaluate wins/losses.

If Louisville was in the SEC and had their exact same schedule/record to date they would be top 15 strictly due to the affiliation. SMU could easily beat Clemson and Wake and be 6-2 on 11/1 and that would likely be another ranked opponent on the road. Pitt is receiving votes. This is the media already pushing the recency narrative to discount Miami playing 3 ranked teams in the first 5, plus Florida who was hyped to oblivion AGAIN by the same media members trashing them right now.

No doubt. Just watching games from week to week it’s really wild even for college football

Some of it just boils down to roster talent. I was actually surprised they dropped Texas out of the top 25 from #1 in the first place

It’s the same nonsense we hear/read all year, every year. Bunch of talking heads making a feeble attempt to earn a paycheck. We’ve got 7 games remaining on the schedule. Anything can happen on any given Saturday.

ND’s best win was against NC St and they have 2 losses.
Good point but not all losses are created equal.
The game vs A&M came down to a 4th down play where there was a no-call on a O-lineman with a perfect form tackle.

Agree, though.
In the end, a loss is a loss.

Best case scenario for us is that they win out.
They'll be a nice buffer for us when it comes to selection time in case we ***** up somewhere along the line.
You know the CFBPO committee will slide them in at 10-2.

yes. This week will be a big game for them. They play USC. IF they should lose, they will be done as far as CFP.

Don't know what his point is.
There's the built-in 2-loss forgiveness factor for the SEC.

A&M can go 1-2 in those games, Ol' **** can go 0-2 and still make the PO.
And there's some kind of memory lapse going on with Bama losing to a ****** FSU team.

I’ve never loved the pre-season “rankings”, but what if they were based on the end results of the after the playoffs???

Maybe this is a thing and just nobody talks about it.

We all know Penn State will be ranked again in the preseason polls next year on their name alone.
