ND is very good but I’m not entirely convinced that they would beat this Clemson team as soundly as we did in week 5 prime time in Death Valley. Mario will have this team ready to play in South Bend. It’s the games against VT and Pitt where I worry about complacency. We will get up for FSU per usual

This is why Jim Phillips deserves to have his conference blow up in his face. It's absolutely criminal what's happening to the ACC in these polls and I haven't heard a peep. He should be on a scorched Earth campaign.
Not only that. Like a cuck, he sits around being a good boy letting the B1G and SEC bend him over whenever they wish. Not to mention ESPN and the rest of college football.

Stepping in at the 11th hour to try and block legislation to save his conference while the SEC, B1G, ESPN and Fox have been making deals and greasing palms without him for years.

He has allowed his conference to become a joke and an afterthought.

Always late….always useless…always pointless.

UF just steamrolled Ole Miss and then got steamrolled by Mizzou who lost the week before to Miss St. Instead of the voters realizing that's a mid off round Robin they put Ole Miss @ #9 , 7 spots above UF who steamrolled them.

For all the shortcomings of the ACC leadership. The teams do pretty good with the resources they spend on football, mostly and they get little credit for it. And its built on the preseason narrative that we play no one. Yet ND was battling for life with UNC.

I used to really like him, but **** me he's sold out.

Trying to explain why Missouri are over Miss St when Miss St beat them. Actually painful to listen to.

This is nuts. Missouri jumped up 11 spots.

Miss St fell 1 spot. In what universe does a 33 point loss only drop a team a single spot?
It actually makes sense for the sec the way it’s laid out. They’ll lose again against LSU, giving both Bama and LSU a ranked win. Miss state will be around 20-22 after the LSU loss. They’ll beat Oklahoma and climb back up to 15-17 just in time to be a sacrificial lamb for Texas. They’ll have time to rattle off 3 wins before offering themselves up to Ole Miss as a 14-17 ranked team. That’s 4 ranked wins for “SEC playoff teams”.

Meanwhile we got SMU dropping multiple spots after a win. Wake and Duke not even ranked. Miami should end the year having 4-5 ranked games on their schedule. What a joke at this point.

This is it.

He should be shouting from the rafters about Wake Forest, among others, but that should be the first name out of his mouth.

But what is he doing? Sitting on his Sybian and letting the SEC, ESPN, and B1G big walk all over his conference.

Gonna respond to my own post here..

The Associated Press college football poll has released over 1,260 weekly and final polls over the last 90 years.

Before Mississippi State, no ranked team had ever lost by 30 or more points and only dropped a single spot in the poll.

But SEC SEC SEC bias doesn't exist?

I saw the stat, it's even worse. Something along the lines of only three teams have lost by 30 or more and dropped less than 10 spots in the poll. The other two fell 9 spots & 8. Mississippi State drops 1. Who can rationalize this? How?

And both Mizz/UF get to remain a quality win against another sec opponent.

Always Sunny Fx GIF
Only bad thing about Mizzou beating UF is that means they will have to lose 3 more times before they actually drop out of the 25 and stop providing SEC teams with a ranked win. If UF had won it would have only take 1 or 2 more losses for them to drop from 25th to unranked.

We were at 1524 pts while nd was at 1532 in this weeks poll. The poll is meaningless but it is interesting to note that we’re closing the gap in perception (at least amongst the voters). Last week they were ahead by 80 pts.
Well last week at least 1 AP voter didn't include Miami anywhere on their ballot (2nd time this year a voter did that) so that is likely at least 1 reason we cut the gap.

As much as we should absolutely be ranked ahead of ND, I'd much rather go into South Bendover as a road dog than a road favorite.

Miss St dropping 1 spot after getting demolished at home by a team not even in the top 5 that was ranked only 9 spots higher before they played is one of the most ludicrous things I've ever seen in these polls. They should be out of the top 25 with Wake Forest in. What a joke.
The crazy thing is Greg Luca ranked Miss St # 10 (up from 18th the previous wekk) this week after they got the pedo in jail treatment by Bama.

Pitt lost their starting QB for the year with an ACL last weekend.

As crazy as it sounds UNC is the trap game I have circled... Pitt just broke into the top 25 but lost their pretty **** good starting QB for the year. They play UNC this week (favored by 4.5) and BC next week, both winnable games. If they win both hard to imagine they drop out of the top 25 so they come to Miami as a ranked opponent. Team will be ready for that.

As you mentioned FSU is FSU at night, they will be ready for it.

UNC before ND on Halloween is where I think a trap could be set. Bill always seems to **** up a good thing. they played ND much closer than I thought and we go to chapel hill so we know we wont get love from any refs.

ND they will be ready.

Hard to see Mensah and Cooper lose to Duke and Mario also will take it personal against Manny.

VT is one I am somewhat hoping continues to win as they could be ranked coming to hardrock... Media loves Franklin, they lost on a last second FG to Pitt. They have Cal this week and should win, GT and should win. at clemson will be the big test, who knows maybe clemson drops one more and mails it in, then SMU (another big test but SMU barely beat FSU +3 and BC +9 and Montana State +10, lost to Lville who seems bad right now, they seem to have come back to earth), stanford and us. If they win out they will be ranked and should have the team motivated and probably a good home crowd.

Then BC to close out the year which we should close out.
