Alabama defensive lineman Marquis Evans made his way down to Coral Gables this past weekend for an unofficial visit. I was able to catch up with him and break down what stands out about Miami in his recruitment as well as recapping his overall visit. Holding offers from some of the top schools in the country including Alabama, LSU and Ohio State, here’s what Evans had to say following his Miami visit.

That’s true but need some 5 star head liners
Just wild after the show this team put on last playoffs
You do realize we'll probably have at least 3 5 stars in this class. They know that they have guaranteed spots but let them sort their **** out

Worry about that if our coaches swing and miss. If JT and Lewis are getting the guys they want, IDGAF how Ivins or some other slob from the rankings sites rates our commits.
Yup. No one is a perfect predictor of the trajectory of a 16 or 17 year old. But I'll take the judgment of our coaches over that of an "recruiting expert." If JT, Lewis, et al really want a guy, it's highly likely he's good.

What makes Miami a top option for him:

“They play the way they practice, the attention to detail in walkthroughs, they didn't take reps off just because it was a walkthrough. They played with the same intensity that they would as a regular practice. So all that stuff matters, and it's crucial for development.”

“Miami stands very high [in my recruitment].”

“Still open to everything, but I will be getting back for an official visit on the last weekend of May. I’m looking forward to seeing more about the culture, with teammates and stuff.”

On what stood out watching Miami practice:

“First of all, the violence and the speed.”

“The way they practice, it's exactly what I've been trying to grow myself into, they practice very violently. That's been a point of emphasis for me this past offseason, so I know coming here, they got exactly what I’m looking for.”

On Miami’s defensive line development:

“I like what they did a lot, because I could see myself in their shoes, as the type of rushers they were. Bain, he could do multiple things and I see myself being that type of player.”

On his relationships with the coaching staff:

“Overall, just great people, love to be around them and just great personalities everywhere. Can't fake that.”

“Since Coach Cristobal was an offensive line coach, he really values offensive and defensive lineman, so that's good for development.”

On what type of player a school will get out of him in college:

“They'll get a player that's gonna give everything. I like to play with high effort, high motor.”
Miami is exactly what I’m looking for 💰
Miami , I can picture myself 💰
Miami is crucial to development 💰

I’m surprised he hasn’t started bleeding orange and green yet , probably dreaming it right now!

PASS , he’s just trying to raise the auction price .

He’s hiring the famous Jay Sugarman Auctioneer .

Oh I need another $10K visit with all CFB schools, I can picture myself there so send reservation schedules

I hope so last year we were told we would land a couple 5 stars and we missed everyone of them
I think we will get Matthews and have a great shot at Green. And there’s a bunch of 3 stars we either have committed or lead for that are gonna get bumps. I learned to check out the offer list on the 3 star kids. Mario does pick good talent
