Miami Rush defense

THIS!!

Here is their DT depth chart:

41 - Donovan Hinish - He's 6-2 and 277. Played in every game last year, only started 3. Undersized, low 3-star recruit. True junior.

47 - Jason Onye - 6'5 and 302. Redshirt senior, played the first 5 games last year and then left the team for personal reasons. Has never started a game in his career, but he has blocked 2 FGs so they need to be cognizant of that. But this kid is a career backup who hasn't played since early October last year. And he's the other starter.

Backups are 97 Gabriel Rubio -- 6'5 and 321. Played in every game last year, started three. Former top 150 kid.

93 - Jared Dawson - 6'1 and 288. Sixth year senior who has never started a single game in his career. Been a backup for 5 years.

So their top 4 guys have started a total combined 6 games. Where's this proven production? Where are the all-america's? Where are the first-rounders? I thought every team but us had 4-5 NFL ready-made dudes at DT.
And they were not good stopping the run last season.

2024 Notre Dane run defense rankings:
Rushing yards per game allowed - Ranked #49
Rushing yards per carry allowed - Ranked #43

I think Miami is going to take advantage of how weak ND is in the middle of their defense. I can see some big runs up the middle in this game.

Different coordinators, personnel, etc. I'd imagine part of our run defense being good in the counting stats was that the pass defense was so bad...good offenses could just air us out.

I am cautiously optimistic about the interior D line. I think it will be better than last year. Excited to see what Jason Onye brings. Freeman said the other day that he has had the best camp he has seen at that position since he has been here. Which he acknowledged was a huge compliment because we have had two All-American DT's in his time here. Mills and Cross were out for the playoffs or severely limited, so this is the same group, now plus Onye, Dawson, and Hughes, that made it to the title game. Marcus said the other day that the DT's were the biggest pleasant surprise of fall camp. Excited to see if it works out that way. If the DT's and CJ perform above expectations, this team could be terrifying.

Texas. I can go on but I’m not doing the research for you.
lol.shaw from unc is a body. Dude is a former 5 star that did nothing at unc and texas took him because they didn’t have DTs. The 3 portal DTs they took is literally there top 3 and you talking bout they got great depth.

Depth isn’t bodies. Depth is guys that can actually play. So you got one wrong. There is no research you can do because I have already done the research and most teams set up are similar to ours. Most have 3 guys and that 4th is a freshmen or another unproven guy

Why would they try to run it on us last year when they could just throw it to the to the guy in the end zone stand by himself?
