Safety depth and high end talent at CB and LB concern me.

Special Teams punting could be our Achilles heel if our defense constantly has to defend short fields. Hope Mario has a plan in place if the punter starts shanking them
Hopefully our offense can actually score this year so we don’t need to rely on a punter to carry us.

Wouldn’t hurt to get another DE this year. I think Moss is going to need another year to add weight.

Obviously need a safety even though it sounds like Harris and Roberts can slide over if needed.

Safety is thin, on a positive note our DEs and OL have gone up almost .02 in talent.

I think the thing to consider is the average rating not of the overall unit, but of the likely starters. And then the experience level. So offensive line will definitely feature more talented starters, but two of them will be true freshmen.

respectfully some of those averages are skewed (TE) because the sample size is overwhelmed by one person (7 year guy). same with RB. citizen does have one year, but he didn't play so not meaningful.

anyways, thank you for your hard work. your keeping up with the roster is helpful.

My 2 favorite things to look at side by side from this. OL & DL. LB & DB have seen big upgrades in overall talent but the trenches are where the pillars are being built for this team.

Moss will be fine. He is going to play a lot. His speed off the edge is too much to ignore. Coach Taylor will get him right.

Also, can’t wait for Bain :)

Season hasn't started and Samson is 2nd team right now.

Up = better, down = worse, equal = well, equal lol

QB: equal, TVD is back, unless they get an experienced backup, this will stay equal
RB: up, Chaney is back as the guy, with Parrish, Johnson and Fletcher as supporters
TE: down, Mallory is a big loss in the receiving game
WR: up, everyone returns, the cancer is out, Joseph will do early damage
OL: up, I don't think I have to reason why, its obvious

DL: equal, Darrell Jackson's exit hurts, but not enough to make this group go down.
EDGE: up, Mesidor returns, which is underrated, the guy is good and the overall young talent elevates the unit
LB: up, Mauigoa, it couldn't get any worse, lets be real
CB: equal (TBD), depending on how the transfer comes in and plays, I'll keep it there. The spring game was encouraging though.
S: equal, some serious lack of depth here

I think the biggest takeaway from what @GojiraCane displayed is the fact that the floor of almost all positions, if not all, has raised and quite significantly.
What this means, is significantly more competitive practice's and less of a drop off due to injury, which is massive considering our past and the fact that CFB season seem to be longer and longer.
Good work.
