Many teams have questions going into each year, Miami is different because there haven’t been answers the last two decades. That’s more concerning than the questions.

People talked about Tyler’s golfing cause there were rumors he was golfing a ton and was a super low handicap while at the same time not having the receivers phone numbers

The team is better overall. Better on the DL, better at DB, and better at LB. The canes lost 2 impactful defensive players and a terrible coach. If the canes can’t pickup where they left off last season then they have some serious problems. OL still top notch, still have a qb that any team in the country would love to have, and RBs that could start on any team in the ACC. At WR u got 3 WRs who have all produced, 400-500 yd seasons. 1 did it while being injured, the other guys played for teams with significantly less talented qbs and just overall talent.

Heed the crib, man. Dude is usually right on. He knew last year going in we had all the pieces but one to be special. Check. He’s telling us now that a few spots are questionable. I’d say WR, LB and depth along the D-front are the areas that could be hit or miss, and if miss, it could be bad like our back 4 last season.

Why do you think we are better at DL and LB?

Team is interesting on paper, but still multiple questions up and down roster, plus a new defensive staff & scheme (can’t be any worse). Hope is that several young players develop & hit on key portal additions. How do the pieces fit? Depth in light of injuries, etc? Check back in October or November.

Because people are going by what’s being said about Scott from people who seen him this spring and what hetherman said about him. If he lives up to that the d-line will be better by default. On top of getting a healthy Bain back. Messidor playing his natural position. And if guys like Blount who was said to be disruptive all spring translate that to Saturday it should no doubt be better. And that with an attacking scheme not twist and stunts. Got 4 5 stars and a top 5 portal DT on the d-line why wouldn’t it be better

A healthy Bain, Mesidor back at his original positions, young guys another year of development, added talent at the LB position and the only real impactful guy lost was Barrow and Kiko. Wouldn’t have been nice to keep Horton, yeah, but him but if your room success is based on him being there or not then u have more problems at on your hands. The most important factor is Guidry I don’t think y’all actually understand how bad Guidry was. Why wouldn’t they be better?

I’m not buying what you’re selling. Outside of a healthier and better Bain, all you’re selling a is a lot of hopes and dreams. That’s where you lose me.

Hope you’re right though..

For sure Cribby is that guy. I was skeptical last year as well. This year I just hold a different opinion than him. Don’t think the DL depth is that bad. They have plenty of DEs that can play to allow Bain and Mesidor to slide in on 3rd downs. Mesidor, Barrow, and Moten were the top 3 DTs, last year, the top 3 this year are Blay, Moten, and Scott. The backups were Clark and Cook, the backups this year are Jones and Simpson. When I look at those names on paper and compare the room to last year I’m really not worried. Think the canes will be fine unless they have tons of injuries. The depth at LB is better than last year’s depth.

When it comes to WR…. CFB in general, majority of time it’s the next man up. They brought in WRs that contributed to their previous teams last year and were going to be major contributors this year. They came to Miami bc they wanted to play for something big. They know Miami has something that their previous teams don’t, Carson Beck, elite OL, and just overall better talent around them. I’m not worried about them mimicking Restrepo stats, it’s a team game and they’ll contribute.

It’s not hopes and dreams. It’s just CFB and basic development. Blay is good, that’s a fact, Moten is good as well, Justin Scott is a better DT than Mesidor, who only played DT last year due to necessity, now that’s worst. The depth was so bad last year Mesidor, a DE had to play DT out of necessity. Now he doesn’t have to play it primarily and yall still complain about the depth. Dt last year, Barrow, Moten, Mesidor, whose not a natural DT, backups Campbell, Clark, and Cook . Dt this year Blay, Moten, Scott, backups Jones and Simpson. Obviously 1 more depth piece would be good, but if that’s what’s keeping u pessimistic idk wat to say. DE there’s another development year for Blount, Lightfoot, Malik Bryant, brought in Hayden Lowe and still have Bain and Mesidor. I don’t know what makes you worried about that.

I saw nothing on the defensive line last year to suggest we’ll be ok there. And the linebacker group is thin and underwhelming on paper. On offense, hard to replace those receivers without a drop off. And across the roster, it doesn’t appear we have any elite players outside o line. Should be in contention for ACC, but we’re still miles away from the tier 1 schools in terms of talent and depth imo.

Yet you will complain we don’t land 5stars at other positions. SMH lol. Yeah selling so many hopes and dreams to say three 5star EDGEs, and two proven starting EDGEs, one of whole is a top 5 returning edge in the country at worst, is a good unit. Straight smoking crack….
