Miami players on CFB Hall of Fame ballot

Ray Lewis, Dan Morgan and Ken Dorsey.

Lewis and Morgan deserve to get in. As for Dorsey: ask if he’d be on the ballot if he had played on any other team in CFB history. If you seriously think the answer to that question is yes, then I guess he belongs in the Hall of Fame.

Two time heisman runner up

Dan Morgan is rather obvious. So is Ray Lewis.

Dan is the most decorated college MLB we've ever had. Ray is Ray.

Ken Dorsey was a good college QB...

But imagine the offense we had, only with Jim Kelly instead.

Don't think he gets in the Hall.

But he was a good QB.

Nobody would say he was a bad QB. I think Dorsey was a good but not great QB who’s overrated by CIS. I don’t think good but not great QBs should get into the CFB Hall of Fame.

3rd in 2001 and 5th in 2002. That’s runner up?

I’m honestly not remotely convinced he’d have seemed any better than Brad Kaaya if he played on modern Canes rosters. (And Kaaya was not a great QB by any stretch of the imagination.)

No offense, that's the type of stuff some fans say about Dorsey.

Talk to the players on those teams, they'll have a far different take than you just gave. I have and you couldn't be more wrong. There is such a thing as a great college player, that's suited for the college game, but his skillset doesn't translate to the NFL. That's Dorsey. The only thing that guy was missing to make it at the next level was some more steam in that arm. He had everything else.

I'll agree that Dorsey was a good QB, but I thought Walsh had the same skillset but made less mistakes.

Respectfully we haven’t had anyone go to nyc in... how long? This guy went twice! Name someone that’s been to two Heisman ceremonies since him? (Without google’s help) Ok, much easier question, name a more decorated Miami Hurricane since him? (Again without google‘s help) He’s not a NFL HOF’er lol but dam he’s in the college football hall of fame. 100% and please don’t ever compare him to Brad Kaaya again. You’re embarrassing yourself.

Walsh was a better QB than Dorsey, although by a small margin.

23-1 record with an undefeated NC. A bad game and bad refs at ND in 1988 cost Walsh a 24-0 record and consecutive undefeated NCs. Want to wager how many games the Canes lose in 1989 with Walsh at QB had Jimmy stayed?

Dorsey was a great college QB who made a outstanding team even better. He was far more than a game manager. The Canes do not win the NC in 2001 has Ken gotten hurt.

Tebow's actually won 2 Heismans since him. Forget about simply going to a Heisman ceremony. That was a very easy question.

Did Dorsey actually make the ceremony in 2002? He finished 5th that year, and I'm pretty sure they usually only invite the top 3 guys to the ceremony.

Anyway, judging Dorsey without taking into account his talent is foolish. Sure, he may seem "decorated" because he was playing on the most talented teams in CFB history, but would. he seem "decorated" if he were playing on almost any other teams in CFB history?

He’s a college football HOF’er. I’m going to remember him for the performance on the field. It’s always been a team game and there have been more physically talented players that have accomplished less. He, for what it’s worth, had a five or six year pro career too. His leadership and in game decision making were always his greatest attributes. There’s a reason Joe Montana, Tom Brady and Bobby Unitas are the greatest ever, and physically none of them had GOAT physical talent.

NEW YORK -- Top-ranked Miami's Ken Dorsey and Willis McGahee are Heisman Trophy finalists, the first time since 1994 that teammates were among the top five in the voting.

Iowa quarterback Brad Banks, Penn State running back Larry Johnson and Southern California quarterback Carson Palmer also were invited Wednesday for the award's presentation.

Oh, and Teblow only won the Heisman once.

sincerely, worst post of the year, including all the MAGA chuds talking about plandemic and Blue Lives Matter.

Hum, he loss one quarter of football because HC went brain dead for a few minutes(probably thinking about next batch of 1st round recruits he was working on). Got denied chance to play for NC, won the next year and loss his second game and NC via worst cheat ever, plus concussion. Three years, two losses, one NC plus another one stolen. Lot of QBs in HOF with lot worse record and no NCs. When had great Cane teams do worse with tremendous talent. He took that talent and was near perfect for three years.

You’re talking to a guy who joined in March with a screen name referencing Alph.
