Miami opens at -18.5 vs USF

Boise State and UF were both overrated coming into the season. Lines seems about right. If Miami beats USF 34-17 people would be impressed saying Miami blew out a tough G5 team.

Line is already up on FanDuel. Probably a little higher than I expected considering they're coming 2 wins vs ranked opponents, but I still think we cover.

This line tells me the sharps think this team is legit.

Our defense was completely overhauled and our offense is more balanced; we're a better football team than the one that beat USF in Tampa last season.

I like what Golesh does with spacing to create conflict and how his teams compete, but coming into HR against our DL and OL should be a challenge for them.

I don't take USF lightly at all, but Miami has the talent-level with quality-depth, coaching and maturity to separate from USF over 4 quarters of football.

We should win this game.

That’s a trap spread! I wouldn’t touch it. This game is going to be closer than that in my opinion. USF is no slouch and they come in with that stupid exhausting offense and our D needs to get off the field. I hope I’m wrong and we run them out of the building but I’d be cautiously optimistic.

Will be closer than last year. Brown was injured during the game.

Miami has to prove it can stop the run, QB run and quick screen game.

Miami needs to protect the ball. Not sure what juice usf will have after playing/beating UF.

Miami should be able to lean on them and wear them out.

The tempo will take Miami a few series to get used to so it’s going to be a close first half.
Just did all that against a much better nd team and dominated them till the shell game showed up.

This will not be a close game.

I know there is a ton of optimism here but that's exactly what happened to Florida and look what the results were. It's great to be optimistic but also realize this opponent can beat us. Do NOT base it on last year because Brown is healthy now and playing like 2023. USF is an extremely physical team to say the least and the heat will not be a factor. Also, in my opinon they have a really good day game coach too. I think the line on this game at the present is definitely too high. I certainly like our chances but when you have Mario on the sidelines anything can happen to the detriment of this team. I hope we play 4 quarters of hard tough smash em football because that's what USF is going to do.

I mean USF could be a playoff team right? Win or lose against us the rest of their schedule is winnable.

So we shouldn’t take them lightly for sure
WE SHOULD NOT TAKE ANYONE LIGHTLY. We’re not good enough yet, or ever to think like that. For the last 20 yrs we have lost games bc we took teams “lightly”. Every game is important and counts towards future implications. Last year is a stark reminder of how close it is to grasping the gold ring and missing it. ALWAYS,… always exceed your grasp. Which entails taking no one lightly. Seems simple right? But it’s something that has eluded us , when push comes to shove. P.S… lightly shouldn’t be in any conversation about a team that just beat two ranked teams. Nuff said🙌🏽

Indeed, well said. Let’s put them down early and continue to pummel the f**k out of them till the games over.

One thing I will say that hasn't been mentioned is the potential for a let down game on their side. We don't need it by any means, but watching the replay of their win against UF, they looked like they won the super bowl after the final whistle blew. They might be physically and emotionally spent after two wins like that to open season, with this last one vs UF going down to the wire.

We managed USFs tempo pretty well last season and, conversely, I think it's also the key to our success as well.

We've had some up-tempo moments to our offense and I think that we should lean more aggressively into that as the year goes on. Ray Ray is a revelation and looks explosive; I think the WR room may be more of a strength than we anticipated coming into the season with CJ, Mali, Jo Jo, & Ray looking good.

Tempo would increase rotations and offensive plays to leverage our skill talent over 4 quarters of football. The more plays Beck has to develop a rhythm, the higher I believe our chances are to win a given game. We can ball-control from the front, but I think our game should be using volume to separate from other teams.

Some of you realize you’re just posters right? You can take anyone lightly, it won’t effect the results…
They're talking about the team, not themselves. Though I'm sure this won't AFFECT you, since you're probably already aware 😄

Im actually excited for this game. I need to see how our defense reacts to a consistent running attack and mobile qb.

We should win this game on the back of our offense tho but its gonna be a good game to gauge the run defense. USF exposed us last year and gave teams the blueprint with the motion slot receivers lets see if we can fix our weaknesses here.
