It's time, no more tune-up games. The Hurricanes are set to travel to one of the best environments in all of college football next Saturday.

Mario Cristobal's Miami Hurricanes will match up against Dabo Swinney's Clemson Tigers for just the 15th time in series history. The series is currently tied 7-7, with the Hurricanes winning the latest matchup in 2023 at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Tigers are currently riding a three-game winning streak after falling to the LSU Tigers 51-10 in Week 1. The Tigers have since beaten Georgia Southern, California, and North Carolina.

FanDuel Sportsbook has released its odds for the game against the Tigers. The good guys are currently 16.5-point favorites with the total set at 49.5, projecting a 33-17 final score.

So far this season, the Hurricanes are 3-1 against the spread and 1-1 as away favorites, failing to cover against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. On the opposite side of the ball, the Tigers are currently 2-2 against the spread.

According to ESPN Analytics, Miami has a 87.4 percent chance of beating the Clemson Tigers. As I say every week. Whoever you pick, bet responsibly.

Line makes no sense. Beyond night game at Clemson (which is mostly BS), Clemson has been running the ball really well in ACC play and their defense has been lights out since the 1st Q of the UNC game. They are their true frosh QB making a leap (which isn't an unreasonable thing to expect in his third start, IMO) away from being a pretty good team. I hope we beat the brakes off them, but I am expecting a 1-2 score game.

Surprised at the bookies.
I'm trying to get into their heads. What do you think they are seeing?

I mean, Clemson hasn't looked good at all. They were going to lose that UNC game and got bailed out by the power outage, and they beat a Cal team they should have beat. In neither victory did they look anything like a good team, just the team that effed up the least.

I don’t know about that quarterback, making a leap, he hasn’t really been good at all. I think quarterback is the biggest thing they’re missing.

Clemson looks similar to us a few years ago. Average team that will win 7 games plus or minus 1. Like us we did always get up for some games and keep it close as they might do Saturday as this will be their Super Bowl. If everyone plays I still expect to cover the spread.

However I hope we get up for them like it’s a playoff game and spank them by 40!

It’s because FPI (and likely mirrored by some of the other power rating metrics used by the books) shows an expected 18+ point differential between Miami and Clemson.

FWIW I think It will likely get bet down. Some of the respectable PRs like Massey and Sagarin call for a tighter game and Clemson’s home field is historically good even when they suck.

It could be much closer (for a lot of the game) than we all want, but I think we separate and seal it by late 3Q. 1-0 is all that counts!

They have only given up 9 points in their last 19 defensive drives (against UNC & Cal) and forced 4 turnovers too. Their defense has done a 180 from the LSU game.

Good point, although the offenses they have faced are not high powered.
