The original piece of Miami’s impressive 2026 offensive line class made his way down to Coral Gables for an official visit this weekend. Four-star Ohio product Ben Congdon has been committed to the Hurricanes since early March, and has been trending up recruiting rankings since his commitment. Following his commitment as the first O-lineman in the class, the room has grown to seven strong, with star-studded names such as five-star Jackson Cantwell. I caught up with Congdon following his official visit and here’s what he had to say:
Overall takeaways from the visit:
“Just spending a lot of time with Mirabal, just all the other coaches, Cristobal and all them — they really make this place feel like home.”
“Mostly been breaking down film this weekend with Coach Mirabal, talked a lot about technique, a lot of just how to move well. He showed me a few good tips, so it was really good.”
On what the staff sees in him:
“They just think I'm a perfect fit here, just the skills that I have really connect here. This place is home.”
On how he feels about his fellow O-lineman in Miami’s 2026 class:
“I'm excited. It should be a good competition, but at the end of the day, we're all still teammates and just a lot to learn.”
“We're a really deep class right now. I don't know if they're looking for any more or not, but I mean, we should be really good up front, which is all I really care about.”
On contact with other schools and the possibility of visiting anywhere else:
“Nope.”
On why Miami feels like ‘home’:
“Just the coaching staff, really, and just how everyone's so personable. Everyone here just feels like family.”
“Overall, Mirabal’s O-line has been really good the last few years. I mean, he's really personable, he's really easy to relate to, and he's just overall a great person.”
