Miami officially Flips 2026 OT Joel Ervin

The fluidity at that size is impeccable. Dancing bear.
His feet are extremely quick for a dude that’s built like a mountain (MAJOR PAUSE). Usually player’s with his athletic ability and traits end up day 1 picks.

Mario and Mirabal know how to develop OL. I’m sure that those two croqueta eating and cortadito drinking Cuban savages are salivating at the thought of coaching Cantwell and Ervin.

Also, I haven’t given up on Samson yet. Dude has A+ traits and athletic ability. He had to redshirt because of an injury during his first season. I expect him to eventually develop and show what @Memnon was so excited about (Pause) when he committed.

As I stated before in another thread, I sleep with one eye open nowadays because @Confidence1000 is always lurking. Don’t want to be caught slippin’.

And keep recruiting Pepe until the end. Riley has gone 11-3, 8-5 and 7-6. Headed in the wrong direction. They’re going to look good to start because the first half of their schedule is a cakewalk. The second half is brutal and they should lose 4 games maybe more.
I don’t think they fire him anyway. They haven’t seen steady talent like what Riley has been doing in ages. It’s not elite but it’s been better than the **** they trotted out for years. They would hit in a few here and there like us but he’s doing a better job and I don’t think that university will risk it yet. Imo that is

Record wise kids don’t care it’s the NIL and relationship package that trumps wins and losses. It always has because there are head scratchers every year. Pause

How’d your surgery go, hermano? Hope and pray that your recovery is going great.

Ervin should be a 4 star player. He runs his feet very well and when he’s engaged you aren’t getting out. He does allow for defenders to get into his body but his core allows for him to over power anyone who does get inside. I’d like to see him shoot his hands on contact more. That over powering works in high school at his size/frame but that won’t always be the case on the college level. His play speed isn’t as fast in his Junior highlight reel compared to the spring game clips which tells me his has put in work in the offseason to better his craft. His base can get narrow as he drives defenders (usually into the dirt). That can get widened out with Mirabal for sure. Not a ton of pass sets in the highlight reel. His kick looks decent but he isn’t shooting his hands, once again allowing rushers into his chest. He just so **** powerful. @DMoney this kid can be great. I think he’s a Guard. He’s high but at 6’7 he’s not straight up and down.

I told you I’d give you a legit breakdown and this is it.
I think he's got a lot of work to do.
Not a hip bender and not a big driver of feet.

He's athletic, yes, but when he's pulling and out leveraging and when he does go to block it's a body check knock out, not a helmet through your chin.

Potential is there, just gonna need minimum tow years of work.

Him and Cantwell both beasts and young for their class. Hopefully those two stay for a few years and become dominant bookends. Not forgetting about Congdon either, who looks like a really good prospect. We need to add a stout Inside OL now - Pickett? Kolojay?
I would like to see Pickett and 6-6 320 Tommy Tofi, to round out this offensive line class.

Nice breakdown. I think he is a guard as well. This class can be special, it’s just filled with guys with NFL trades.

How I see this class and positions turning ou
LT Ben Congdon 6-7.5 290
LG Joel Ervin 6-7 330
C JJ Sparks 6-4 300
RG Tommy Tofi 6-6 320 and Canon Pickett 6-4 320
RT Jackson Cantwell 6-8 325

I agree that they won’t fire him with a mediocre season this year. I don’t entirely agree with you on the NIL. We can essentially match their offer and if Pepe think Riley is in the hot seat or the development is better at Miami, then record and momentum factor in.

U betta say it

SJ. But taking him out the equation for fairness because he’s a C prospect..it might actually be CICi who is “only” 6’5. 🤣

I always wondered if there was a reason Centers are smaller? We cross trained Rivers at C. Why not recruit big centers too? Not complaining about SJ he’s a baller. Just genuinely wondering?
