It’s a reasonable argument to say these early graduates usually end up needing a year or two before they become productive.
On the other hand many are uber talented so would you forego a Blount or Toney due to a gap year? It’s not like they’re sticking around for the full four or five years anyway. And presumably you can construct the NIL contract to step up each season so the first year investment isn’t too expensive.
