After participating in the Hurricanes' offensive and defensive linemen camp this past weekend, 2028 offensive tackle Merino Samnik has received an offer from the Hurricanes coaching staff.
Miami now joins a growing offer list: Liberty, Georgia, Kennesaw State, North Carolina, Missouri, and Rhode Island.
Merino is currently measured in at 6-foot-5, 280-pounds, playing his high school football at Carrollwood Day School in Florida. He talked with CanesInSight about his recent offer from the Hurricanes -- here is everything he had to say.
"My reaction was very excited and happy, I was very relieved to get the offer and that’s was my goal, I plan to work even harder," he added. "Coach Mario Cristobal and Coach Alex Mirabal offered me in Coach Cristobal’s office after camp."
Merino spoke highly of how the Hurricanes coaching staff gets stuff done in a fast pace and intense mode. He also spoke highly on Hurricanes offensive linemen coach Alex Mirabal:
"The thing that stand’s out the most to me is how fast pace and intense the camp was," he added. "Also the way Coach Mirabal could teach new techniques to me and I could pick them up immediately like 0 4 for hand placement."
