Miami Offers 2019 CB Simpson

Miami offered one of Georgia's top sophomores on Friday and it happens to be one that has plenty of interest in the Hurricanes.

Saint Simons Island Frederica Academy 2019 cornerback Jaylin Simpson told InsideTheU that he picked up a bid from Miami after his high school coach talked with UM assistant Todd Hartley.

"It means a lot to be offered by Miami," Simpson said in a message. "Big program with a lot of history,"

Simpson, who is unranked at the time, also claims early bids from Ohio State, Tennessee and LSU. While he claims no leaders at the moment, he says that the plan is to give the Hurricanes a hard look down the stretch and for one primary reason: Simpson is good friends with current Miami commit Deejay Dallas, who also resides in Georgia, and is also close with his high school teammate, 2019 Top100 wide receiver Jashawn Sheffield, who was offered by UM back in March.

All three were FaceTiming each other on Friday when Simpson got word that he had an offer from Miami.

"Deejay is committed there and Jashawn has a offer from there, so that's pretty cool," Simpson said.

"Hopefully I'll visit soon. Deejay wants me to come down there the [October 15th]. Hopefully we can all come then."

Simpson (5-11, 165) has totaled 18 tackles and three interceptions this season for Frederica Academy in four games.

Do your thing Deejay
