Miami O Line vs Indiana D Line

Do our tackles and DEs not go against each other everyday in practice? Idc how good ppl think IU DL is, none of their players can hold a candle to Bain, Mesidor, or anybody else in the starting lineup. We have the perfect blend of 4-5 stars and experience. And the same with our tackles, mfers talking about tyrique tucker, like Bell doesn’t go against Bain and Mesidor everyday in practice.

After my little rant, IU is still very good and has the ability to beat us. But I truly believe if we play disciplined and continuing playing at the level we have been playing in these playoffs, we can win and win convincingly. I wanna see our WRs do a little better in sitting on their routes when the opposition in playing zone.

Thanks. They pick up the blitz well too correct?
Yea, but thats fine. We basically telegraph our blitzes and its for one reason and one reason only.. We want our DAWGS to get in one on one situations. We will send 5 and challenge you by putting Bain and Mesi on same side if we have to, we will mug the A gaps, we will do whatever is needed to get our guys isolated on the identified Donkey and see if they can hold up..

Also Mendoza is a very mobile QB and has no problem finding exit and just picking up what he can get, even on 3rd and short be aware for QB draw. But he likes to run straight up the middle and just go and get what he can.. When he has to move laterally he can get crossed up and kinda turtle up banging into his tackle and then get sacked.. I would blitz him up the middle if possible, his first read isnt there he is looking for escape route and if thats clogged you have better chance of locking him down.

Its not the players only but the scheme also and how they attack. They running pick and rolls out there, lol..

I just want us to set a tone first drive. Put doubt and "oh ****" moment in their minds that this is going to be a long-*** day for them. Both offense and defense. While Ole Miss eventually did move it on us, those first two 3-and-outs on defense definitely set a tone.
I'd be cool with duo 18 straight times.

Years ago when Harbaugh coached in college (well before Michigan) he challenged his team and told the other team what he was going to run: iso. He proceeded to run iso 21 of the first 23 plays.

Come stop us

That’s fine, it’s not a fool proof scheme though. there’s ways to attack that, and if communication is on point u can minimise how affective their stunts r.

wasn’t TAMU a team big on stunts and sim pressure?

I’m not as worried about our pass blocking. The run game we’ll see. I think our tighter splits and scheme will allow us to use our size more. But IU is great at being disciplined and filling the gaps. They’ve got really good line backers. And Cig places a priority on stopping the run.

I really have no idea how we’ll look running. We were much bigger than Louisville and couldn’t run for ****. Louisville game plan will probably look similar. They really stacked the box and ran a lot of sim pressure. As a whole we did not block well and with the pressure Beck made a lot of bad reads. I think we’ve improved a lot since then. In part I think some th
presnap stuff we’ve seemed to use more helps us recognize the coverage. But need to be able to stretch the field a little in this one imo.

How does the IU running back compare to the backs we faced?

Not as good as price/love who were likely the best two. Brown at UL was smaller. OSU kid is good but not a downhill runner. Donaldson for OSU is a little bigger and a downhill runner. The key isn’t the backs but the OL. They are a good unit.

These two hammer. Hemby is the better back. Both have around 15 catches on the year.

Josh Pate has already brought it up and said it will be mentioned 1000 times between now and the end of the game. IU fans saying Bama and Oregon also had bigger lines and they had no problem with them. I contend both those lines are soft. I will also reiterate what I brought up prior to the Fiesta Bowl: teams are not prepared for how violent and physically we play. Now I think Indiana will probably be most prepared, but to say our trenches are no different than Oregon or -3 yards rushing Bama is laughable.
I understand the bama Oregon thing but our line is actually good and huge. Bama and Oregon were Meh when I watched them

A&M is in a league of their own with their 3rd down pressure packages. Their LB play was also suspect and weak compared to Indiana.

Our OL is the best pass blocking line in the country and Ole Miss was actually a good game for having our guys see a lot of the stunts/twists Indiana will use as well. The main difference is Indiana will run the TEX pick and roll type stunts with their edge and tackles while Ole Miss was featuring a LB often.

Miami OLINE has gone against the SEC BIG10 and whoever else out there and hasn’t lost a trench battle yet …….

**** Indiana
