The landscape is evolving fast, and more teams saw the success of Miami, Texas Tech, Oregon, and Indiana in the portal, and will become more
competitive. Texas Tech is doubling down, and we can expect more competition even inside the ACC with Clemson and VaTech. Point here, is what was good and competitive in 2025, wont be enough in 2026. Solid HS recruiting helps, but just look at the impact of our portal class this season. January 2nd through the 10th is going to be crucial, and hope we have our ducks in a row right now. The financial commitment needs to grow to be on par with Texas Tech and Oregon.

Mario has all his staff in place and I don't expect any significant turnover. And per @Cane30 we've locked in our returning players. I would expect they also have the budget sorted out with the boosters and administration.

Hopefully the team is ready to hit the portal hard and fast and close on our top targets as soon as the portal opens. NGL, I am worried there is only one portal period this year.

Some of y’all need high dosages of Midol

The fact the portal isn't just the month of Feb is bonkers. Gives guys time to get draft grades, finishes all the bowls and all coaching changes are done... also Feb signing day is nothing now, but the powers to be never do it easy in CFB

I mean…maybe Clemson…and that’s a big maybe.

But Va Tech…stop it lol.

Franklin gets washed out by every good team he’s ever had to play and will be working with less funds than Penn State.

Hes the Doc Rivers of college football.

I think the evals and priorities list are in place for January 2nd. I just hope the budget is increasing Year-over-Year. In my opinion, what was good enough last year, needs to increase to keep up with other expanding budgets across the landscape.

No insider info, but I wouldn't worry about that. We're not dealing with amateurs any more.
