I honestly only care if recruits like them and they create positive buzz that way. Otherwise I really don’t care, other than as far as a team uniforms, I normally prefer just the traditional uniforms. But I don’t care enough to get worked up about it either way. If the players like this new look, and especially recruits, then great.

I know everyone’s different and I’m not trying to cast aspersions, but I’m not about to buy a jersey, I just don’t wear them.

It's a nice look. We've been keeping things simple ever since we got rid of the Ibis feathers.

On a separate note, and for throwback purposes, I'd like to know if Nike has a "copyright" on old jersey designs.

Upon further review; these don’t look horrible. They are still not Johnny Blaze & truth be told, I still kinda like the originals better, but these are not horrific. The cleats were dope, though, so the whole drip might be nice.

To answer ur question; yes, Nike has a propensity to patten & copy right designs of schools they currently or formerly sponsored. Also, they color copyright; which is why our orange & green is a slightly different hue.

See, this is what I do not understand. When I was at UM, I worked on the school newspaper and yearbook. Miami has an OFFICIAL green color called "Biscayne Green". We had to use official Miami colors and official Miami fonts for certain things. I have no earthly idea how Nike could take that from us. It is OURS. We give THEM permission to use it, not the other way around.

I have no problems with Nike copyrighting the (atrocious) clam, but freaking swirls and stripes and whatnot? That's just insane.

I say that adidas should start making throwback jerseys and just let Nike TRY to sue us.
 
In the future, I would like to see more combos with the black - (Tops/Bottoms) - Black/Orange, Orange/Black, Green/Black, Black/Green. I love all black but just a lil mix up would be dope.

They wouldn’t sue us v. suing Adidas. You gotta understand that when we first signed with Nike, it was an all encompassing, exclusive deal which meant they were in charge of entire jersey catalogue. Same when Meeechigan signed w/ Nike. Big apparel companies are overtly protective of intellectual properties, designs, catalogues, etc.

There’s always loop holes, but what u’ll usually see is a slightly different uniform material & hue in color tones. I know Adidas had a problem with getting Michigan’s yellow correct which is a property protected Maize b/c Nike had complete exclusive rights of their entire color palette. On the flip side, UTK fans were upset by Nike’s shade of Tennessee Orange; well Nike can’t match that same exact Orange b/c Adidas put a patent on it. Lol.

You wanna get paid $$$ to be sponsored? That’s the cost.
