So I figured I’m starting to realize most of this has to do with our coaches and staff we currently have. Outside of Manny and Enos we have zero game changing coaches on this staff. Not one of our younger guys are talked about as the next great thing. Let me ask you all a question when I mention Stoud, Patke, Banda, Stubblefield, Hickson, do you see any of these guys becoming future HC’s????
Mannys staff hiring sucked outside of Enos and Fields who he paid for.

These other teams have future big time college HCs or NFL coaches and Coordinators. We don’t have that on our staff

All I can say is Bratkowski and Lubick made Erickson look like a genius...(and gave him time for a few extra beers).

It really helps to have top assistant coaches...

2001 first year hc. First year DC. First year OC.

Great players help. Not giving passes but I'm not sure anyone of our current players could have started here between 1983-1994 or 1999-2003

Would disagree with original post - you have zero game changing coaches on this staff, because all the praise thrown at Enos as the
for Alabama's success clearly rest on the shoulders of Mike Locksley.

I said this before and I will say it again.... Manny needs to have grey beards on his staff. -He has no choice he is learning on the go how to be a successful P5 HC !

Literally, I'm not sure there is a single kid on our roster right now who would have gotten any reps at all on those 2000-2002 teams. In terms of having proved it on the field, Brevin is our best player as it stands now and it's not even close. Yet he wouldnt have started over Shockey or Winslow; heck, those two were so good he may not have even seen the field.

Yes, coaching is critical. But in '01 those PLAYERS won a title, not the magical coaching of Larry Coker. We lack elite players. Period. Yes, that falls on the staff as well, not saying otherwise. But this standard our football program is compared to now is ridiculous. We aren't that program anymore and we havent been in almost two decades now.

We won't win big without great players and we aren't going to land the truly elite players until we show them some sort of on field success. It's a sad cycle we are stuck in right now. It's also our current reality. Yet fire Manny Diaz tomorrow, that'll do it!
