Beck threw for 3500 yards with 28/12 last year. I heard the guy from UGA on a cover 3 podcast say there was 600-800 yards worth of dropped passes.

If beck is healthy, he is being underrated and we got a steal.
UGA led the SEC last year with 36 dropped passes, 10 drops by 1 receiver alone.
That is a lot of yards to just disappear.

Outside of o line I believe the easiest position group to project as being very good this year is runningback. Very surprising to see him not include that group and now I’m curious exactly what he thinks we’re lacking in that room based on what we have returning in Fletcher and Lyle and brown

I think Martinez going late round cast a shadow on Fletcher and Lyle. They think the production is due to our OL. I have no other explanation.

cut down the INT's by half, and I'd take those other numbers in a heartbeat...

Agreed. If Beck can maintain 3500+ in yards, 28-31TDs, and 6-8INTs we’ve had a helluva season.
Two more fun facts about Beck’s 2024 season:

1. His QBR was 80.9.
2. His completion percentage of 68% was the highest in UGA history for a QB with at least 300 attempts.*

*Edit: I think the second one is combining his two seasons. Oh well.

because Im willing to bet that our Oline is superior to last years UGA unit, and lets be honest, we're not in the SEC, which means the Miami run game can be VERY good-to-dominant. This would mean that this years offense could be lethally balanced...

like Mark Twain, the rumors of his demise are greatly exaggerated (if healthy)

They led the entire nation, not just the SEC.

they lead the universe. I mean Arian Smith at times looked like he was trying to swat the ball away instead of catching it (still got drafted though because of his speed). Unless you saw UGA a lot, and not just saw their scores, you really had no idea how badly they struggled outside

Also, losing Bowers and McConkey, was big

Agreed. I wish they tracked how many first downs Beck rushed for (attempts and successes), because it felt like he was trying to get them with his legs on **** near every other drive at least.

that's another aspect of his game that is not talked about enough, Beck actually has better straight line speed than Ward. He is more than capable of getting a few first downs a game with his legs. He doesn't have the pure magic Cam had in extending plays but Beck is a good athlete

I’ve been saying it! I feel like our OL will help him continue to have good success with his legs. Beck mentioned this as one of his strengths himself as well at ACC Media Days, and related it to his baseball background. You’re right though, it’s an underrated aspect.

if you go back to our 23 season (and yeah, please don't, it will only anger you) but we had so many of our run plays chased down from the backside because ends were just crashing in. There was no threat of our QB pulling the ball. There was no real plus-one in play

Now, Im not saying with Beck we have pale Randall Cunningham here, but we have a guy that backside defenders have to at least respect on certain concepts

Beck gets us a first down or two with his legs every half, that will be invaluable to both the offense and defense(total plays, time of possession, etc)
