Miami national rankings per Pick Six Previews...

So national rankings for Miami per PickSixPreviews...

Miami is considered elite (top 15) at WR/TE (11), Oline (3), Dline(9) DB (13). I know some will disagree with the #Canes not being ranked at QB and RB. But hey, it's just one mans/publications opinion. But Pick Six has a really good track record that I respectNow keep this in mind, Brett Ciancia has Miami in the playoffs.

There's no anti-Miami bias here./ And last year he had Miami ranked in every category except -- defensive back (yeah, he nailed that one)

Just my thoughts (and yes, Im a biased UM fan), if the Carson Beck of '23 shows up, he's an elite college QB. Also, the running back room is good. Finally, the schedule is favorable (although Im not a fan of the two early bye weeks and the back-to-back roadtrips into cold weather to end the season.)
I mean I agree with that, was never high on Beck at UGA so there is no bias in my eyes regarding that. I cant switch my opinion of him cause he is wearing a Cane jersey. Hope he does well though, the fans that think everything is anti Cane been wrong for years and the "haters" always been right. Now that the talent is improving we are earning respect and rightfully so. They weren't wrong before throughout all these years.....I remember the homers saying Cane players performed better in the league for years over Bama players (which was cap unless you were going off of Butch's players). Those fans are crazy insane, that they couldn't see that was a lie. A lot of fans here were concerned with our secondary last year and were right, "Powell played for the national runner up he has to be good" Dude was like in his 100th year and didn't go to the league for a reason and Penix was all world that year and basically uplifted that entire team.

But honestly I always thought Beck was carried by UGA's roster but got the job done, with our OL he will have time to do well here for one season. We wont be unbeatable though we still can have slip ups, unless the defense takes a huge step and some unheralded and high rated guys turn out to be really good.

Weird that they would rank our WR room that high and not the r RB room. Regardless of whether or not any of our guys is a superstar, Fletcher is a proven P5 running back and Lyle was very good in limited opportunities. He also got playing time against good teams last year so it’s not like he just had huge games against FAMU and Ball State and did nothing else. No way you’re going to convince me that 6 ACC teams have better running backs than we do.

Im with you, while nobody may have the 1-2 punch of say Penn St(Singleton, Allen) and L'Ville (Brown and Watson), I really like our trio (Fletcher, Lyle and Marty Mar Brown)

WR's can be good -- that's the hope

I don’t understand why people are shocked that the rest of the country isn’t impressed with our RB room. As of now we have Lyle, a talented sophomore with potential and Fletcher, a solid starter. And a guy who lit it up in FCS. There’s no superstar. No high round pick that scares defenses. Just good depth and good players.

If Beck stays healthy, and is a reasonably close to what he was a couple of years ago, this team can be very good. It's not about being Cam Ward or doing the things he did. That's not really his game. But he has to be a guy that paints between the lines more consistently

Overall, this squad has to do a better of playing complimentary football (which means the defense AND special teams have to be much better in '25)

If Beck is healthy he’s the best quarterback in the ACC. Beck’s issues last year were the same as Cam’s with Washington State. When you try to do everything yourself, you’re going to be more prone to turnovers. Remember when people tried to say Cam was some kind of turnover machine? Beck had to carry Georgia’s offense.

He will have better linemen, running backs and receivers here than he did last year at Georgia and he’ll be playing a weaker conference schedule. Playing against Notre Dame isn’t some big game for him. He’s already beaten Florida twice as a starter.

Kind of shocked at how high he's got our WR and Dline rated that high. I was listening to a podcast that had Brett on talking about his rankings and he considered Beck one of the only liabilties on the team and last year his play left a bad taste in alot of peoples mouths.Said Beck was way to boom or bust in his play to rank him higher and that was before the injury. Also said Miami's the best talent aquisition team in the ACC but put Clemson over Miami to win the conference because of the returning proven talent they ahve.

QB ranking is laughable. Haven't seen the players on other teams enough to judge the other positions. But I expect our RBs and LBs to be ranked by EOY.

Cot dang, I didn’t think about in-game holdouts 🤣

I jest, but still

Yeah it’s a little odd. He has our QB room 4th in the ACC. His 1st 2nd 3rd team QBs are Klubnik, King, Jennings. So he thinks Beck is 4th best behind them.

He has us 7th in the conference in his RB rankings. I don’t think that’s too far insane if you’re a national guy. Fletcher isn’t a special talent, or at least he hasn’t shown that in 2 years. Lyle didn’t play much last year. Brown is an FCS kid. I think at the end of the year this will look a little silly but right now if you wanted to put the room at 4th or so I think that’s fine.

Des Reid, Isaac Brown, Jamal Haynes, probably Duke Watson, Des Claiborne all all kids who most national pundits would take before Fletcher or Lyle.

I’d don’t agree with having FSU 5th and us 7th. Roydell Williams is average as ****, Kam Davis looked ok but didn’t play much and got hurt, and Kromah is a true freshman. Is the Sawchuck kid they got from OU any good? They have high ranked kids but Fletcher has been more productive than anyone they have.
I think it's the entire room which does suck after beck.

A complete/complimentary team is all we can ask for......

Yep, and from my view it seems like they have done a good job of addressing defense. They did address special teams a bit, but I hope we hear they are more focused on it in camp. Other than the kickers, we were bad on special teams and that is solely on Mario.

OL, DL, secondary are in pretty good spots right now from a pure talent perspective. I think RB room is underrated, but lots of questions right now at WR, TE, LB, and kicker. Beck is the x factor. If he's Beck from a couple years ago we have a shot to make a nice run.

Beck threw for 3500 yards with 28/12 last year. I heard the guy from UGA on a cover 3 podcast say there was 600-800 yards worth of dropped passes.

If beck is healthy, he is being underrated and we got a steal.
