i dont have a problem with that honestly.
I don't have a problem with the logic. But it's a new thing for the AP and seems to be unfairly applied to the SEC only. The AP used to rank all undefeated P4 teams ahead of any P4 team with a loss.

Bama doesnt drop a single spot after an L. Is that a first?

Why is LSU still ranked? Their big wins are Clemson and Texas A&M......

Tennessee struggles against Arkansas....no drop at all. No good wins and have looked bad all year.

SEC gonna SEC.
So then When either Miami or Notre Dame loses in this upcoming game, noone should move down.

They set the precedent.

If Miami wins, we switch spots. If ND wins, we both stay put.

Thats how it should be if Bama gets to lose and not move.

So stupid.

Bama doesn't drop even 1 spot even though they lost? In what world?
If you look at who is behind them it makes sense. I think wake and OK state should both be higher though.

They didn't move up when they Miss St. (top 15) on the road last week. Therefore, it balances out.

didn’t they move up after a loss last year at the end of the season? This is the Alabama phenomenon. Texas barely dropped after losing to a **** team. Oregon lost early in the season and took a nose dive 15 spots and OK state would beat Ok.

UGA is at Ole Miss the day we play ND. We should probably know the result by then - assuming that game is in the usual afternoon SEC slot - so there's a decent chance our game is for a #1 ranking.

SEC crazily overrated again. Those teams last night are above average. Nothing special. You'll see come playoff time. They are not in our world.

So where would you rank Bama? Texas has looked like *** this year except for 1 qtr against OSU (I'll give them credit for that) but they just lost to a pitiful OU team.
To exhibit some overtly defensible surface conformity, I'll just say behind Texas.
But for my real answer.... As long as the rankings continue to be blatantly dishonest and stacked in favor of that cheating hick conference, below UCLA, Utah, BYU, Texas Tech, and yeah, Wake Forest for now. **** them. That program and its fans are the absolute plague of college football history.

You think Texas or Ole Miss are better?
Those are the only teams I think have an argument.
AP poll is not a power ranking. It shouldn't be ranked on who you THINK is better. It should be ranked on who has earned ti be ranked higher.
its impossible to do it that way in reality since everyone plays vastly different schedules.

ultimately it is (or ought to be) a power ranking. which part of is your record.

for instance, at the end of the season, if our only loss is a close loss to ND, id argue we still deserve to be ahead of an undefeated UCLA or UTAH/texas tech

Poor Oklahoma - knock off the #1 team in the country (LOL) and remain unranked.

It's like you guys have forgotten the last two decades.

We have three ACC games between now and ND. Let's win those first, then speculate about how important the ND game is.

I've seen us drop too many games we should have won, even under Cristobal, to look that far forward.

They should do away with the AP poll completely and wait for the CFP rankings moving forward.
Probably should get rid of the preseason rankings as well.
