One of Miami's top 2028 prospects trimmed his list on Monday afternoon, putting the Hurricanes among his top 15 schools.
The nation's best safety, Casey Barner, released his top 15 schools, naming the Hurricanes alongside Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Georgia, Indiana, Alabama, Texas, LSU, Oregon, Notre Dame, Auburn, Texas Tech and Oklahoma.
According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Barner is currently viewed as a four-star prospect. He ranks as the number one safety in the 2028 class, No. 6 overall player, and No. 1 player out of Georgia. He is measured in at 5-foot-11, 190-pounds.
Barner is out of Powder Springs, Georgia, where he plays his high school football at McEachern. Before transferring to the Indians, he spent his freshman season with Douglass High School in Atlanta, Georgia, where he recorded 23 tackles, two interceptions, and one forced fumble in eight games. On the offensive end, he added 25 carries for 111 yards and three touchdowns to go along with four catches for 58 yards and one touchdown.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Georgia Bulldogs are currently the leading favorite in his recruitment. He was recently on Miami’s campus for Legends Camp.
