The success of what he knows involves Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weiss both of whom will be at LSU.

He is now being asked to put his final year into the hands of John David Baker and Joe Judge.

While I agree with this on the whole, the reason why everyone is acting like there won’t be a portal post spring is because the NCAA decided January 2nd to January 12th is the new and only portal window sans some exceptions laid out. So the NCAA still has some say.

Buddy at Baylor wasn’t drafted in the 1st round btw. He was the first pick of the second round so his contract wasn’t guaranteed. We have three int players who played pro ball as well; as do many other programs even before this year. Dame Sarr at Duke, Kasparas Jakucionis at Illinois, Egor Denim at BYU, etc all apply.
 
i cannot fathom why some student-athlete has not yet sued the NCAA for limiting the transfers to this period. I cannot believe the NCAA would not lose this in the courts.

****, if a chem major can transfer at other times of the year and the university accept them than why not the same for a student-athlete?

they can transfer anytime, just not a 2nd portal

Trinidad won at the D2 level. His success is far less coach-dependent than people may think.

True and he’s a great player, but also he was at Ferris State which is a dynasty and then went to play in perhaps the most QB friendly offense in college football for Lane. If I’m him I’m taking a long look at my options.

Of course there’s also the fact that ole Miss gave him a chance when no one else did and he might just like there, which is also fair.

I think Cristobal would ask Cam Ward for his opinion on Mateer before making an offer. If Ward gives the thumbs up I trust his judgement. In retrospect Mateer went to a bad situation at Oklahoma. Thats the exact thing many of us said when he chose them. He is still an exceptional qb. My #2 behind Sorsby.

You know you dont have to be in the portal to transfer? A player can(and already has) just enrolled at another university. NCAA already said there is nothing that prohibits a student athlete from doing this.

Mario seems to be worried about hurt feelings its been reported. Cignetti clearly has no such worries. This is Marios first attempt at navigating the playoffs and portal simultaneously. We have no precedent to judge his ability to manage both. These players are now paid, hence, they are professionals. Think NFL players can cry when the team brings in free agents or drafts into your position group?? Tighten up and go compete
