Seems directly tied to Toure coming back and being Hethermans guy. Popo wanted that role

Can’t blame him. I hope if he does leave he ends up getting that role somewhere else. Hate to lose him and then he doesn’t get what he’s looking for

Would you rather Toure come back or keep Popo next year?
 
Standard linebacker and you can pick up one of him in the portal at any time.

We only play two linebackers at any given time, as our nickel plays a ton.

wouldnt the guy playing 8 years be "blocking some of the youngsters" or dont fit narrative?

We shouldnt care about blocking anyone. You step up and take your spot. This is the portal era. You look to win. If you cant beat out who ahead, you either sit and learn the playbook and work on your body like Pancake or go elsewhere. No one is giving coaches a free season to be terrible. Especially not in his 5th season. This is not Mike Norvell

I can respect it, but i don't agree with it 100%. The best college teams with depth rotate players. The NFL knows that. Any NFL FO worth a **** doesn't simply grade kids on snap counts and total tackles, but production per snap and projection. Same goes for other positions that rotate. Damon Wilson rotated at Missouri. The best players should get the higher share, like Wes did last year, but they rotated.

Now if coaches were upfront and honest about Popo's future and didn't see a snap share increase for him bc of how younger guys were progressing, that's a different story. Then i can understand why he's looking for something else his senior year.
