Miami LB Raul Aguirre Enters Transfer Portal

CIS 101 in here.

1.) Player is at UM and isn’t all American by freshman year = “kid sucks, what a miss, guy is a jag, others teams have better players”

2.) Player decides to enter portal = “OH MY GOD have to do anything to keep him, he’s the best player in the conference, we have no depth and our coaches don’t know what they’re doing!”

🤣🤣

Fair enough. In all those snaps he accounted for 22 solo tackles and 21 assists.

That's actually a very good, active ratio though! That's the equivalent of just under 4 games of full-time football.
In particular Jakobe & Keionte and to a lesser extent poyser. Teams that have strong linebacker play aren't entirely dependent on the safety room enforcing the run..

OK but isn't alot of that the system?

I'm not arguing with you here, I'm actually in agreement on some of it. I guess my point would be ok then, why didn't we bring anyone in from the portal? And do you think this HS class is a step in the right direction with better, more athletic LB?

I'd love to see Bobby figure it out cause him more than anything is what I want out of that position

Washington? He's gone. Or is the "figure it out" about Bobby Pruitt?
We have plenty of talent in the room and obviously if we're not targeting more than heatherman feels good about what we already have. That's his room. I trust him for that. We just got pretty good results out of what I feel was a very average core unit & that is without question the best way I can describe them...

So who is the talent in the room then? It just seems to me (And YOU too…at least before the "plenty talent" comment which seems like a 180 from the rest of this convo) that the talent is decent but not great. Is Pruitt even at LB still? Half the board says yes, the rest says he is a safety now. When you say plenty talent are you talking about…Bonner? Marcelin ? The incoming class?

Awkward Kid GIF

Lawd has yalls standards fallen... Not only am I seeing most of y'all thought wes was actually a **** good linebacker(when he was average at best)but now y'all crying over popo when he's an even slower poor man's version of wes. In the right system he can work. But his abilities are limited physically. It's time to embrace fast, physical, sideline to sideline backers. Wes played because of continuity. He wasn't a weakness and he knew the playbook. But why start over with a similar version of him who struggles with communication as well.
As a funny aside..the kid in that meme won a high school football state championship in NJ a few years ago

Pruitt gets burn in both rooms. What I consider average has been the starters. Washington was who I meant but autocorrect changed would've into would. I would've loved Washington and wiley to be our starters this year or at least toure (who struggles too much in pass pro) and them. The rest of the room (the majority atleast) are physically more of what we want out of the position. Fast, physical and adept against the pass and the run. Marcelin is the only one who physically doesn't match that BUT he's a student of the game from what we've seen so far

OK gotcha makes more sense.

Looks like he grew a little too since he's got here…Noticed that on kickoff.
