Ummm....Thats my homies house where he lives. Coach of my alma mater....guy that has gotten a few good guys to this current roster and prior.

We been real canes fans forever @Coach Macho
 
I think the way this defense played in 2025-26 sets the paradigm for the future. You figure that the way these kids played for Hetherman represents the vision actualized. So it isnt out of pocket to think he will try to replicate it as best he can until someone finds a real weakness in what he does.

So that being said I figure this kid slots into the Jakobe Thomas role right?

The crazy thing there is crazy room for growth on the back end coverage and passing numbers.. We were in first year of scheme and the zone coverage awareness and busted coverages I would think will be better in 2nd year in scheme.. That Dline covered ALOT on back end..

Watching how IU defense ran a similar scheme and how they were with many years in system, I can only imagine how much better and tighter our guys will be in year 2..

Not too sure about that. He landed some highly rated DBs; most definitely. Did he maximize the intake & evaluate well enough to produce a strong unit?

For starters Jaelen Waters (Miami) and Jay Timmons (OSU) both decommitted under his watch. Didn’t land either of CJ Bronaugh or Samari Matthews.

A lotta of his DB room entered the portal too: Shamar Arnoux (Auburn), Edwin Joseph (Ole Miss), Earl Little Jr (OSU) etc. They are losing kids from his own HS school or area,soflo, to the portal lol.

If he is low effort, it’s a problem. Rumph developed NFL guys and had elite pass efficiency rankings, too. The only guy that I had faith in to recruit hard and develop was TRob.

I don't know much about Surtain as a coach. But I suspect the people on both sides of the argument know just as little. The staff made a decision and time will tell if it was the correct one.

they went to fsu cause of him more than likely for sure earl little did...Shamar Arnoux is jacory harris's cousin and a s.fla bred kid as well.

Cant blame folks in the portal from a sh*tty team and who let him go which he brought those guys in.

I think the db position was the only spot they land guys for really.
