Miami is the best team I’ve seen this season

Full disclosure, this doesn’t mean anything. It’s mid-September. And we looked **** good through 4 games last year, too.

But all we have to go on is the evidence we’ve been given so far.

And from what I’ve seen, there isn’t a better team in the country than Miami. I’ll wait for the next 3 weeks (2 games) to go FULL Kool-Aid, but there’s really no reason to temper expectations here. Will we win a national championship? Obviously that’s a tough ask, last I checked there’s only 1 team left standing at the end of the season. But some quick thoughts on other teams who should be in the conversation:

Oregon - just eye-test wise, this is probably the 2nd best team I’ve seen. They’re loaded and Moore looks like the goods. But they have played literally no one (Montana State, OK State, Northwestern). They play in Happy Valley in 2 weeks.

LSU - great win at Clemson, but Clemson is now 1-2. They beat Florida, but were outgained and largely unimpressive on offense. The defense is salty, though.

UGA - credit for winning, but were largely outplayed in Knoxville. Less than a 30% postgame win expectancy.

Taint - slogged through a win versus Texas. Obviously super talented but looked very pedestrian this week against Ohio.

Texas — Arch is Preston Dewey

GT - Cool story, I pray we get them in Charlotte

FSU - holler at me in 2 weeks

Miami has a QB who is a co-favorite for the Heisman. WRs making highlight reel catch after highlight reel catch. The best OL in America. The best defensive player in America. A true stable of depth at corner. I just don’t see any holes here. This is a complete roster with excellent coaching. Shannon Dawson is the preeminent kingmaker at QB in college football. You wanna go 1.1? Just come to Miami. Heatherman has his side playing fast and violent.

Again, I’ll be back after the next 2 games. But for my money, at this point, give me the Canes over anyone in the country.

Arch is Preston Dewey that made lol.

I agree with your assessment!

The reality is we've played good but ND and USF are/were over ranked. They both could win out, which is great for us, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of them losses to Navy or ND losses to USC.

I'm really curious to see how Texas A&M does in the SEC this year. They just had no trouble moving the ball against ND. Much easier than we did. But I will say the refs were atrocious in that game. I counted no less than 4 holds on their last drive. On the last TD the DT was tackled from behind while running free to the QB. It was one of the worst no calls I have ever seen in my life. It was hard but I was really pulling for ND. I'm starting to think the refs are purposely against whoever I pull for. ND play calling is brutal.

UF is just a bad team, badly coached, no discipline, dumb play calling. They should have easily beat USF. Boise State just isn't that good.

After watching Alabama have no issues against Wisconsin that FSU game is clearly our biggest test. Crazy how this season has gone. I was worried about the EOY games on the road but Pitt and Vtech look weak AF.

We went 10-0 in 2017 before the wheels fell off. We went 9-0 last year before everything went pear shaped.

I'll believe when we're undefeated after beating Pitt. But I'll be cautiously optimistic until then.

My top 5 would be:

1. Miami
2. Oregon
3. Ohio State
4. Georgia
5. Penn State

I could maybe switch 2&3, or switch the top three around, but it doesn’t really matter. After that, it’s a big ol’ mess so I don’t care right now. Not impressed with LSU at all and they remind me of us in 2017.

Like others said, we will know FSU after we play them. Hard to tell right now.

I do think OU is probably top 10 right now.

Edit: forgot to mention I’ve being hoping since spring we meet GT in ACC ship. I’m a huge fan of them every season (and my son goes there for camps so I’m a little biased).
