Last year, Miami had 25 red zone TDs throughout the entire season...a 58% TD rate, good for 83rd in the nation.
This year, Miami already has 22 red zone TDs...a 74% TD rate, good for 38th in the nation.

QB that has some semblance of touch to his throws.
Using short yardage sets and backs.
Utilizing TEs and 6'5" WRs in the red zone in the passing game.

Always a winning formula...now Miami is utilizing these things.

A few other key stats

Rush attempts per game.
2018 - 42 attempts per game, 35th in the nation, 14 rushing touchdowns.
2017 - 32 attempts per game, 115th in the nation, 19 rushing touchdowns.

Time of Possession
2018 - 31m19s - 43rd in the nation
2017 - 26m30s - 124th in the nation

Points Per Game
2018 - 42ppg (this will drop some for sure)
2017 - 29ppg

Seems like Miami is on the right side of these key stats in 2018. I, for one, am happy to see we've finally adjusted our offense to be not only productive, but efficient.

It'll be very interesting what happens with Perry leading the charge. Not so sure those numbers take a dip.......

Are the 2017 numbers through the same amount of games or full season?

We are doing better situationally on offense for sure, but we’ve got to become more consistent. We are like 70th in YPG. Some of that is because of the UNC game, but we have the players to be top 30 easily.

My hope is that the development of Scaife will make the tail end of this season look like 2016, when we got the running game going after the ND loss, and started churning on offense.
