So depending our rb room is banged up now .. is lyle gonna play ? I really haven’t been following his off field stuff

He spent all last year running for his life at Duke. Yeah I’m sure a couple of hits in the second half shook him.

The 01 team had to get lucky against BC. The season was never going to be dominating everyone every game.

I think it's just that Mensah is a much different QB when he isn't playing ahead of the sticks. Reviewing the Duke's drive charts from last year now, and he similarly wasn't great on 3rd and 6+. (Duke was 80th in 3rd down conversion % last year FWIW, if anyone has advanced stats by down I'd be curious to learn what Mensah's QBR was on 3rd down)

We lost 2 RBs over the course of this game (and are really down 3 since Lyle is still in purgatory apparently). It showed. We couldn't do anything on early downs, and Mensah couldn't bail us out on 3rd and long.

yep we may have to let dawsons creek know not to call screens for 1/2 yards on first/second down then...

Absolutely a horrid performance outside of Mensah and his numbers…

But the injuries, calls, etc, while you can’t foresee those…after all of the missed tackles, the lazy penalties or whatever…what had me so shocked and infuriated was watching Dawson and yes, I will throw Mario into this mix…throwing screen after screen after screen long after their defense started sitting on that…abandoning the run….

That was so infuriating like an unbelievable regression. Mallory is a good back. Run the f-ng ball north and south and punt if necessary. East and west **** against a team stacking the line for it? WTF was that? It was like a complete regression in coaching..
 
I’ll say this, a win is a win especially on a Friday night game against a conference foe on the road. I’m going to blame it on the injuries and just hope we get healthy

By my count we still had Fletcher for 3 series after our TD in the 3rd quarter and we handed the ball off to him on 1st or 2nd down once in 6 chances. Some bizarre play-calling

There’s no need to act like an *** about it. Perhaps he had flash backs to last season.

Whatever it was, he went from looking unflappable to looking like cheeks from the second possession of the second half onwards.

It is…given the obstacles tonight, but definitely SHOULD BE an eye opener.

Praying for Brown, Fletcher and hoping Mali and Moten were not just in there decoying while banged worse…but there were some questionable coaching things at times, especially at the end when things weren’t going our way…

Bottom line, fingers crossed health wise, but there needs to be some serious mirror time for the coaching staff and players…very sloppy undisciplined **** at times, and again, players and coaches.
