Live Miami Hurricanes @ Wake Forest Demon Deacons 9/18/2026

One can argue last year's OL was the best in program history. Even with this line not being a historic collection of talent, Miami is averaging 5.8 yards per carry, on the road, against a team that creates havoc through their alignments and movement. Keep in mind, Wake's entire defensive philosophy is centered around eliminating explosives by keeping everything in front of them. That means they are going to be a little more passive, that means these drives are going to be methodical.

I know this isn't true, but it ALMOST feels like Mario wants to prove he and Mirabal can coach up and develop their High School guys, like an SJ.
Kick McCoy inside and let cogdon or Cantwell play RT and just leave the TE in or Rb to chip with help

Darian can at least see the rush on his front side instead of seeing constant up front pressure and little run game push

You know Dawson is seeing it because one never seen so many pistol and outside zone runs to get away from the middle he don’t even want to run it up his usual A gap
I was thinking the same thing. And I think that would help with the duo.
So you are saying that none of these guys will get better as the season progresses and stay just like they are now. Cus that never happens with young inexperienced players. Understood

Its just a weird situation all around. Mario could have easily went out and grabbed any guard he wanted in the portal but chose not too in a off-season we had to replace 4 starters on the OL. I know he wants to develop his own guys on the OL but **** at least grab 1 proven starter in the portal.

Not at all. But I think our season long ceiling is higher with Cantwell at RT and McCoy at RG.

I’d like to know what SJ does during practice that is trumping what we think we are seeing during games.
familiarity ... when he doesn't know the dt's game ... you get what you see ... he hasn't been all bad ... we just need better to get where we want to go
