I’m not a hater but can someone explain the hype with Banda. He’s listed as an assistant on the rise. I don’t know maybe I’m too hard on him

He seems to have grown considerably over the last few years, but I have a friend who works in the equipment department at UM who told me he puts quarters in his shoes to give him a lift.

There must be some elements of wishful thinking from the press. UVA is a blueblood school, though not in football.

I realize Bronco is a pretty good coach. He sure fielded some dirty teams at BYU. I just don’t think the talent is there.
 
UVA has a playmaker at QB, return 8 starters from a defense that finished top 20 in both scoring & totes defense, and just hauled in their best recruiting class in years. I'm not saying they should beat Miami but they won't be a pushover.

well we played like steaming dog**** last year and lost by a FG on the road with malik rosier at QB. we should curbstomp their asses at home this year.

Conversely the game will be in Miami and the canes will be out for revenge. Richt is not calling plays anymore and the qb last year had 91 yards passing 3 tds vs Miami. with any normal offense in 2018 Miami beats uva easily but as we all know Miami’s O was anything but normal and it was an anomaly. Don’t expect the same thing this year
 
The narrative on UVA is just too good to pass up for writers. Bronco in his third year at the school, took them at their lowest to now playing better than their historical average, shutout an SEC team in the bowl game. If Richt had stayed here it would've been a much easier call to pick them. That said they're just not that talented and will drop games games they shouldn't. Here's hoping we don't end up saying the same.

Conversely Virginia has 13 days to prepare for Miami. Miami plays VT 6 days prior.

Their QB played with a broken thumb.
 
The only person i pay attention to with this stuff is phil steele. He has us as his #2 surprise team in the country (historically his top 5 surprise teams exceed expectations) and has having the #2 ranked total defense. Thinks highly of manny and expects enos to get the offense “right”. Has ceiling as getting back to ACCCG with potential to upset clemson and floor probably a 9-10 win season.

Andy Staples is Lizard alumni. Hence him giving us 3 losses in conference and the one out of conference to UiF (and putting Taggart on the hot seat). Either way, VT is not winning the coarstal.
 
VT is a worthy dark-horse pick to win the Coastal. They have just as good a shot as Miami imo.
