Miami Herald Article on UM Recruiting

LOL at Fishburger. Fcking recruiting nerds crack me up with their hyperbole.

Recruiting experts in general throw out over the top superlatives. It wouldn't be any fun otherwise. It would be boring if he said "Sam Bruce reminds me of Sinorice Moss" or something like that. It might be more accurate, but it would also be boring.

Last year it was "Mark Walton reminds me of Clinton Portis". Almost every comparison is over the top.

This phenomenon leads to excitement on the message boards around recruiting time to get clicks, followed by the inevitable bashing, pointing out, discussing, etc how said player did not live up to hype or expectations. (which also generates clicks).

So wise.

Quick example - Kaaya is the next Joe Montana, board management rides him hard, many then ask the inevitable - "this next Montana cat, where is he, when will I see Joe Montana?" -- followed by numerous "stop hating on Kaaya" posts with a few other disguised when our players do well in the NFL (stop picking on Kaaya, I'm the one who over inflated him so I will point to easy target, old staff, to distract) threads, etc. etc. etc.

Fun stuff.

1) Sam Bruce is a very talented WR and I really want him in this class.

2) There's a Sam Bruce-level talent at least every 2-3 years in Florida, if not annually.

3) 1 does not negate 2, nor the other way around.

Well said.
