We're going to have to do that anyways even if we take 20-23 people in the class because we are going to be looking to add Transfer portal players next year as well.

Seems like every team now with the portal it will be likely losing 1/3 of the roster every year to graduations, NFL declarations and team cuts. Its a new age of CFB

We should definitely target a 25+ class. I don't see how you find 26 JAGs on our current roster unless you're counting 2023 and 2024 guys you don't like but the coaches do. I just think that enough transfer-out candidates will emerge by the end of the upcoming season, especially considering some kids will leave even if they're good enough to stay because they're disgruntled with playing time, etc. (e.g. Chaney, Acheampong, B Smith and Skinner).

I think 30+ new kids a year is the new norm across HS and Portal. Maybe that settles down. But until we're consistently in the playoffs, there's no excuse not to constantly be trading up.
 
It will work itself out, 22/23 kids who don’t see the field this year will most likely look elsewhere. Then you bring in 25 kids who will have 1/2 years to see the field or else they will do the same.

If they takes less than 20 kids next cycle then they better have 7 1st rounders on roster

QB: Ward, Emory or Jacurri
RB: Parrish, Allen, Citizen, CJJ
TE: Cam, Arroyo
WR: X, George, Redding, Washington, Kirk
OL: Samson, Zion, Rivers, Logan, Rodriquez, Washington, McCoy, Carpenter, Cooper, Kinsler

Literally just on offense alone there’s 20-25 kids who could be moving on/declaring/graduating between now and 25.

A number of those players will already have moved on by June. Then you still need to find 30+ more by next June. But we will, or they will sort themselves out. The new norm until we are winning championships again.

Agreed. In todays portal era you either produce now or get recruited or portaled over…
 
Big discussion going on now on Flo's podcast regarding the numbers.

He is saying the numbers are over by 8 guys right now before the summer enrollees. As of January enrollment dates, there are 10 additional guys who signed but didn't enroll. That totals 18 guys over the 85 who will have to leave by Fall camp. And that's not including any additional portal guys Mario brings in.

Are there 18 names that are crap on this roster still? That’s a lot of numbers to get right considering we really need 3-4 more
Portal kids so it’s closer to 22 by fall camp

Unless someone is counting out the scholarship players putting us at 93 right now, I'm not buying it.

Flo sticking with the 18 number. He says you guys gotta understand theres not many spots for 2025

The hurricanes would have to really ***** up in not getting DJ Pickett in next years class

Also didn't seem too impressed with Nickel,said he checked down liken 80% if his passes this weekend,kept it very safe while some other QBs made amazing throws.
