Miami Flo's Predictions

No one has brought it up so I’ll do the honors, who is the mystery DL that might leave? Flo mentioned it could be a surprise. Personal guess would be Moten.

I was honestly thinking Wayne... DTs we need bodies so I assume a bunch play. But with Messidor and Bain starting, assume Kelly is the first DE off the bench, perhaps the Marshall kid is now 4th. If Lightfoot comes in and puts on a show and takes that 5th spot do we think Wayne sticks around for a year with little burn to show out as a true junior?

Or if Kelly's injury is worse than initially thought and Wayne passes him and he is 5th or 6th perhaps it could be Kelly. I do not see Moten as a hugeeee surprise as he has not played a ton but the two DE's have gotten a decent amount of snaps/

I seriously doubt it's Kelly. I could see Wayne, does his Parents still live in Washington state? Saw 2 NW schools have great seasons, and he may not see a path to much PT this year.

I'd guess JHH. We keep bringing in guys to play over him and it's not hard to see, if you're him, that you could start somewhere. He had flashes last season when played, just may not show enough in the staff's eyes to warrant more playing time than he got.

Wayne played a good amount for a TR Freshman though. More than most do at the position, it just doesn’t seem that way because Bain was such a rarity. If I’m Wayne, I don’t even think about transferring unless I don’t really develop over the next year or maybe I get home sick?

As much as I hate lists like this because it just brings negativity going into Spring...I cant really disagree with anyone he mentioned that should be on any "watch list".

Do we really need Parrish AND Allen? Its one or the other IMO. They are the same type of RB. Plus we need to see what Chris Johnson can do IMO so something has to give. And if Citizen isnt able to full go for Spring ball after 2 yrs of rehab..Is it out of the question that we advise him to maybe look elsewhere? (Especially if Kevin Riley comes back into the picture)

I honestly thought Redding was already gone.

I dont give up on Pancake but if his NIL is 7 figures..and hes not ready to take a spot in the 2 deep by post-Spring..we either need to renegotiate or advise him...shrugs..I dont know..I would say he absolutely needs to be in the 2 deep at OT. Period.

With the 2 DTs we brought in from the portal..and Horton and Moten waiting in the wings..we dont need Gore AND Campbell..one can go..

As for the rest..Balom is the only one that I am looking at with the side-eye. Markeith going into his 3rd year needs to step up.
Gore and Campbell NEED to BOTH go. These are 2 grown *** men entering their 6 year and the best we can get out of them is some production against G5 teams or lower by just 1 of them.

I agree with both of these. I also doubt its Kelly especially with how vocal momma is in our favor. My only assumption was if the injury was something more serious. I think Wayne's parents do but he was also an IMG kid so its not like they are regretting him moving after the first year, he been gone. Wayne did play a lot as a TF but clearly out of necessity. If Messidor and Kelly dont go down he plays much much less. I assume those 2 are still in front of him. Bain is still in front of him. Leaving him to try and beat out the Marshall kid or else he is 5th at best. Then with Lightfoot coming in (if he can put on weight) I can see him being used more in the the one off pass rushing specialist role.

Wayne to me has tools but rushing the passer is not his strong suit. Strong suit is setting the edge and being stout against the run. His bend if anything is what needs work. I would love to keep him, I think he can contribute and is greatttt depth. In 2025 Wayne should be ready to fill that Messidor role against the run if he sticks around but dropping down to 5/6th on the depth chart could have other teams that come poking around.

I think it will also depend on how the kids in front of him play. If Mesidor is a day 2 kid after next year and/or the same happens with Kelly, I can see kids staying and waiting their turn as his peers are getting drafted.

Im all for it. Im just playing the offseason hypothetical game of a "surprise" on the DL dipping in the portal and seeing what could make sense.

Flo just said that Tim Harris Jr leaving was a mutual thing between both sides

But he also hinted that his recruiting wasn't up to par.

Flo said that we're only recruiting around 18 kids for 2025

The class is packed with skill position and OL talent.

I highly doubt they’ll only take 18.

It’ll probably be closer to 28-30.

It'll be more then 18 but I doubt it will be around 28-30. Ghandi we have a small senior class right now. I'm not exact sure of the numbers but I think its around 14-17 seniors and then add the early guys leaving in the first transfer window. Maybe we go after 25 kids??? I think we go under 25 but thats just my guess

Small senior class means nothing these days.

Miami is on the annual review cadence that Alabama and UGA are on.

Those guys always have small Sr classes because they leave early to the draft or get processed out.

But then you gotta think about the 5-10 guys they'll go after in the portal in 2025. I don't think it'll be 18 kids but I don't think it'll be anywhere near 30 either.
