Yes but not entirely. Few people had their hands in that. I just don't like this kids tape. I realize he's a take though.

Great measurables and probably killed it at camps, like most 5-star CB's.

Ya he supposedly locked down a lot of WR, including some Sofl kids at camps or 7 on 7s

Did you see the soph tape too @Coach Macho ? More raw corner stuff, he's turning and mirroring pretty good on there, especially for a 6'1 kid imo

I do agree though Gourdine looks insane, would not surprise me if he is the best cover guy this cycle. But Wright has all the traits. Gourdine has one of the best tapes you will see at DB.

Relax Im sure he’s 10x better than whoever you’re coRching up

Imagine saying this dumb sh×t to the guy who developed the top DB on Miami's board.

You do realize he has two dbs currently committed to us in this class right or you aint get his drift.
Macho and geta, I get that you guys and d$ were locked and loaded for Krazy after his affront to SFHS football but how the **** did you guys get Blu to drive???

Just days after finalizing their secondary staff, the Miami Hurricanes have made a major splash at the cornerback position, flipping five-star Donte Wright from Georgia.

An elite defensive back who has all the tools to be special at the next level, Wright is one of the consensus top cornerbacks in the 2027 class.

A 6-foot-1 corner, Wright excels in man coverage, completely taking away an opposing team’s number one option.

His high school stats reflect that, with very little attempts going his way as he puts receivers on an island.

The California native sticks to receivers with impressive footwork, matching routes well as he fluidly moves his hips across the field.

Wright was committed to UGA since last summer, but other schools such as Miami and Oregon remained squarely in the mix for the Long Beach Poly product.

The Hurricanes began to surge following his weekend visit in March, where Wright left impressed.

“I always had high expectations of Miami, they just reached all those expectations, I feel Miami is a big contender for sure in my recruitment,” said Wright.

“I would say I fit in perfectly. Talking with [Hetherman], he told me that he's trying to get into more man coverage and press coverage.”

Plenty of concern was expressed at the lack of certainty in the secondary room following the loss of Zac Etheridge and the lack of a named secondary coach.

But following the announcement of Terry Jefferson as corners coach and the elevation of Will Harris as secondary coach, the Canes look set to continue on the trail.

Wright becomes Miami’s eleventh commit in the 2027 class, joining local talents Sherrod Gourdine and Jaylyn Jones in the secondary room.

Check out our interview with Miami’s newest commit below:

I really like how the Young Secondary seems so Talented stacking up. Camden Portis at Nickel has Star Potential/Jennings is a Talent that may grow into a Safety/ Jalen Watters 6-2 Long/ Jaboree like Wise a Wild Card Jontavious wyman

Wright would be CB 1, if he is as Good as he is projected to be. Miami CB / Nickel
Maybe among the best.
