Miami flips five-star DB Donte Wright from Georgia

Mario did say the #1 thing for recruits is for them to watch us practice and see if they want to be apart of it, worked perfectly here

This is truly my favorite part of Mario's recruiting. He brings them to the most grueling and violent practice days, where they see nonstop battling, mixed in with the occasional blood and vomit. Then he asks if they are the type of men who embrace the suck. I likened his approach to special forces and stick by that.

We're not just getting the best, we're making them better. The goal line stand vs TAMU by Mohamed Toure is the iconic symbol of that Mario culture.

Also helps getting the right guys, not just the 5 stars. We don’t need any entitled, lazy, soft players. Regardless of there stars.

Is that supposed to mean something?

Him being identified by Mario doesn't validate his resume anymore than it was before he was identified. Mario has hired Coaches who weren't good before.

But that has nothing to do with my point to begin with.

However, that was a tacit pivot turn & goalpost move, so +1 for that.

I wasn't trying to clown you, if I were, I would've just did it & it would've been a lot more clever.

I'm clowning the notion that Wadood was this pivotal catalyst in Wright's recruitment as if he actually mattered, when Wright has had ample opportunity to commit to Oregon & has dubbed them essentially 3 times.

You don't need to be so defensive about it if you're not attached the perception of Wadood.

There's nothing special about him & his recruiting is something similar to DVD.

Also, no sign of intelligent life??? Come on man, you don't even believe that 🤣.

Not cheerleading for Wadood at all. He had the chance to join us, he chose not to do so.

But let's not act like Oregon (and Wadood) were not right up there in this recruitment. They were.

It's hard to measure an incumbent CB coach (and Oregon) against a not-yet-promoted CB coach (and Miami) for a kid from Los Angeles. Normally, on a logical basis, you'd think Oregon would win that battle.

But it didn't happen this time. And, yes, for the last few months, some sources have felt that hiring Wadood would lock this flip up. I'm glad we were able to complete the flip with or without Wadood.

That is all.
