It won't surprise you, but Miami is trending down in Bracketology after the loss vs California Saturday. The hurricanes fell from a No. 9 seed to a No. 10 seed and last four byes in Joe Lunardi's updated bracket this afternoon. California sits currently at last teams out after the win against Miami on Saturday. Miami looks to get back on track against Boston College on February 7th.

In this bracket, Miami would face No. 7 seed Auburn in the first round in Oklahoma City, with a potential second round game facing either No. 2 Houston or No. 15 Austin Peay (ASUN). Other teams sitting in the Midwest region is No. 1 Michigan, No. 3 Purdue, No. 4 Florida which we faced and was defeated 82-68, No. 5 Texas Tech etc.

Midwest (Chicago)

St. Louis
1 Michigan (Big Ten) vs. 16 LIU (NEC)
8 Kentucky vs. 9 SMU
Tampa
5 Texas Tech vs. 12 Liberty (CUSA)
4 Florida vs. 13 UNC Wilmington (CAA)
Buffalo
6 St. John’s vs. 11 Miami (OH) (MAC)
3 Purdue vs. 14 ETSU (SoCon)
Oklahoma City
7 Auburn vs. 10 Miami
2 Houston vs. 15 Austin Peay (ASUN)

How Many ACC teams are in the big dance?

As of today, There are eight ACC teams in Joe Lunardi's projections, ranging from Duke as a No. 1 seed to SMU as a No. 9 seed, one of the last four teams out is California which Miami loss yesterday and doesn't make that loss look any better as of today.

• Duke: No. 1 seed
• Virginia: No. 5 seed
• Louisville: No. 5 seed
• North Carolina: No. 6 seed
• NC State: No. 7 seed
• Clemson: No. 7 seed
• SMU: No. 9 seed
• Miami: No. 10 seed

KenPom Projections for the rest of the season

Miami fell from No. 37 to No. 39 in the NET Rankings after yesterday loss to California, but as we head into the month of February Miami will have a lot of chances to get Quad 1 and Quad 2 wins for the rest of the season continues.

KenPom dropped Miami from No. 38 to No. 39, but projects Miami to finish the season 21-10, 10-8 in ACC play. Meaning KenPom predicts Miami to win 4 out of the 9 remaining games as competition gets better entering February and almost March.

Can’t believe we’re still listed in the bracket, but let’s take advantage of this and play ourselves back into a higher seed!

Unfortunately, it was a horrific loss, much like FSU, and at home to another weak opponent.

We are in big trouble in terms of making the tournament.

The North Carolina game is a must win.

Cal is a good team, nothing like FSU. That said, I’m shocked we are still in most brackets.

Cal is a fellow bubble team, this is how I know a lot of our fans aren't watching. The FSU loss was the one that can't happen. Miami needs to protect home court, you can't blow games to inferior teams(FSU), nor can you blow late leads to other bubble teams(Cal)...
