Miami EDGE Hayden Lowe Named Under-the-Radar for 2026 Season After Missing Spring Ball

Should we expect young adults/teenagers to learn how to be professionals early? Yes

Should we give them grace while they’re learning compared to the NFL players in this context? Yes

This is all im saying lol i think we all agree on these right? The other stuff is just semantics to the root of the point im making here

I agree with you 100% on the first two questions. And ti be clear, I'm not interested in the personal info. My issue is I think it's more than just semantics. I think these kids are all ****ed because of the money involved. Just a matter of time.

Agreed im not just talking about lowe here. I do agree giving these kids a big sum of money can lead to mishaps, ****t even grown adults do dumb stuff with money. That’s why i give more grace to these younger guys, some of these guys are moving to Miami or places they have never been with thousands to spare fresh out of high school

Every college should have multiple financial literacy classes or presentations, they deserve the money but i think its on the grown ups to guide them the best we can

Your last paragraph is the greatest truth. It should be incumbent upon these schools to immediately prepare them for the reality of the world.

It is my understanding that UM does exactly that ... wealth management courses / seminars for athletes. Investment guidance ... long term financial planning focus.

My question for those in the know. Is there a timeline attached to his situation? Does he have until a certain summer semester to get his stuff straight? Would they release him prior to fall, or will we be doing these threads all next season, asking why he isnt getting playing time?? I of course want it all to fall and place and have him be the force we think he is, but i also dont want a year long distraction.

I'm fairly certain Mario has something like this setup for these guys. Thought I heard (maybe saw a video) of some seminars he has these the guys attend in the facility to help them learn how to manage and even grow my money

We’ll find out in fall camp or the weeks leading up to it

Well, hopefully the young man works out whatever he is dealing with and returns for the summer semester and ready to play this fall

I agree, expectations should always be high for young adults no matter if they get paid or not. And there should be consequences for bad decisions, that is what the real world is supposed to be..

All im saying is there should still be more grace for teenagers and young adults just entering the real world no matter if they’re getting paid or not. This isn’t saying we shouldn’t expect high standards from them of course we should

Yall are so stuck on if they are getting paid or not lol, thats the reason why i mentioned players have always gotten paid. So if you gave them grace back then why wouldn’t you give them grace now

My main focus in this discussion isn’t what they’re getting paid, its that they are just entering the real world
Yea but getting 50 or even 100k under the table isn't the same as getting 7 figures in writing. And while I agree these are kids and we need to remember that, they can't have it both ways. If you're ready to sign a 7 figure deal that essential makes you a professional athlete then you have professional obligations. Now whether they should be handing 17-18 year old kids that kind of money is another story. But if we are, it gets tricky giving them grace because they're "kids."

Most of them do but you can't force them to listen or heed the advice.

We take 17/18 year olds and give them warfighting responsibilities in the military.

Life and death decisions. Sometimes, the dumbest, most inept 17/18 year olds imaginable. And we pay them nothing. If they mess up, there's massive repercussions.

If you care about someone, you hold them to high standards and expect great things from them.

If you don't care about people, you tolerate negative behavior and make excuses for them.

These players are adults. Old enough to vote and make decisions. Signing contracts with stipulations. Representing not only yourself but multi billion dollar institutions. Making ridiculous money and getting a half-million dollar degree.

They should not be making major mistakes. The program cannot continue to miss on "5 stars" evals.
