Miami Down to One Quarterback, and Counting

I once had a talk with Wilbon about the Canes. He felt like sportswriters were often unfair to us. He saw through the crap.
This is the same Wilbon who during the ****pro NCAA investigations, called for the "death penalty" because Miami was out of control.
I pass.

My conversation with Wilbon was in the 1990's. I'm not familiar with his later statements. Typical journalist. They're all holier than thou and arrogant. I'm only familiar with what I read by him around the time I spoke to him. He seemed much more offended by hostile statements toward UM by other journalists. I sensed that he might have felt some of that hostility was racial. I felt a lot of the hostility toward UM starting in the mid-'80's had some racial undertones. I think that was a hidden current in the whole UM-ND controversy of that era. Jimmy Johnson was not Black but the hatred of him was unreal. Still, I think the hatred toward UM had a racial aspect.
