I can’t be the only one who sees when the pressure doesn’t get there somebody is openFor a moment, it looked like a Guidry coached D..
Yeah, that’s usually what happens, especially with a blitz.

We get lost in coverage way to easy though man![]()
Blitz andWhat can Thornton do? Seems to me he's a good blitzer off the edge (although doesn't break down when he gets there) and there's little else to his game. Can't tackle. Can't cover.
Problem is he’s terrible at blitzing. Zero control and does zero to mask it.Blitz and
He reminds me of a baby goat , once they start running all out they can only stop by crashing or fallingProblem is he’s terrible at blitzing. Zero control and does zero to mask it.

Brother go look at the injury report
A lil deeper than that
I mean I know what hetherman likes to play. He is a zone defense guy. He loves cover 3. They were only 43rd in pass D last year. It isn’t bad but kind of average. And even last year all the short stuff was there for offenses to take. You saw it vs louisville and smu. It could be a thing of where the guys just aren’t that good in zone. Indiana runs a similar scheme as there DC was under hetherman with cignetti at jmu and they run heavy zone too but seem to be better at itA lil deeper than that
Pure speculation because nobody knows what we’d be playing at full strength.
That’s what happens when you blitz. If you could bring extra pressure and still have every single receiver covered like a blanket, you’d have the greatest defense in the history of time.I can’t be the only one who sees when the pressure doesn’t get there somebody is open

There were almost zero plays where Reynolds had time to scan the field and complete a pass to an open receiver. Everything that was completed more than five yards downfield was because he scrambled around for his life just long enough for a receiver to break open. Every team needs to be able to run the scramble drill but if you’re relying on it to be your entire passing game, you’re in for a long day. They prob had 100-125 yards in passing on plays that Reynolds extended. Kid was running for his life all night and made a few plays (and got away with 1-2 as well)
It was a really impressive outing like others have said considering how we are patchwork things together with the injury bug. Keep winning, get healthy, and keep getting some of these young guys burn and we will be scary down the stretch.
Pass efficiency defense is the real measure of a pass defense. If you give up 300 yards because you have a huge lead and the opposing quarterback threw it 55 times, your defense did it’s job.Oversimplification
Our rush defense was elite and we played with a lead most of the season.
A majority of teams pass yards came in the fourth quarter, and our pass efficiency increased during these times. Our pass defense efficiency was in the 20s despite overall in yards being in the 40s. Which means, the yards were a result of volume not success.
People get annoyed with the bend but don't break defense within the game but it ******* works, just like it did last year. Teams cant seem to drive the whole field without getting negative plays from pur defensove line.
Then the second we consistently play press man with our FS and 6th string CB against those NFL WRs last night and get beat for 6 then the tears and complaints would be stronger.
They scored 1 TD. Again, Hetherman knows what he is doing. The people complaining in the game thread saying they don’t like his scheme/style from their couch, don’t.
