One half of Miami’s local McArthur dynamic defensive back duo, nickel corner Sherrod Gourdine joined teammate Jaylyn Jones for the Hurricanes second official visit weekend. A 5-foot-11 versatile UM commit, Gourdine plays with instinct and is excited to take his game to the next level ahead of his senior year.

The three-star commit broke down everything from his visit below.

On his experience this weekend:

“Shoot, I had a blast, really good time. I went on a speedboat, ate good, ate a lot of steak — my family and I had a great time here.”

“This visit showed me that they really love me and that this is somewhere I can make home.”

On connecting with Miami’s 2027 commits:

“It's a blessing. I've been wanting to get to know the other commits. I didn't really know them, so I wanted to get close to them and get that connection.”

“[Donte Wright] … I've been connecting with him.”

On his time with the coaching staff:

“It's a blessing because of the way they treat me and my family. I really appreciate them for everything.”

On head coach Mario Cristobal:

“It was a blast. He was hyped that we were here, hyped that I’m committed, hyped that everyone’s committed. I think it's gonna be fun playing for him."

On teaming up with high school teammate Jaylyn Jones at UM:

“Not everybody can do that with their brother. Him and I have been together since high school so it's a blessing, that’s my boy.”
