The second half of Miami’s elite 2027 cornerback haul so far alongside Donte Wright, Alabama native Ai’King Hall made his official visit with the Canes this past weekend. An Oregon flip who the staff worked tirelessly behind the scenes to land, Hall remarked how this visit cemented his decision as he shut down his recruitment earlier today.
A 6-foot-1 corner ranked as the top player from Alabama this cycle and a top-100 recruit nationally, Hall spoke to me for CanesInSight to recap both his commitment and visit.
On his overall visit:
“We went to a lot of places, I was able to experience a lot of things I've never done before, so I definitely had a great time, definitely planning on coming back soon.”
On how this visit helped reinforce his decision to flip to Miami:
“It definitely helped a lot, 'cause I did flip from Oregon kind of early. This official visit definitely made me realize this is where I want to be, talking to coaches and experiencing all of the city and stuff.”
On his conversations with DB coach Terry Jefferson:
“We just talk about ball a lot of times, showing me different ways I can help out. If I get here and have the right mindset, I should be able to play early.
On Coach Cristobal:
We talk about everything, it's just fun being around Coach Cristobal. We talk about football, food, fishing, everything.”
On spending time with his future teammates:
“They're pretty cool, they say they try to recruit good people and that's definitely the truth. Everyone I met were all cool, good people — definitely excited to be around them more.”
On his own recruiting efforts:
“[Jaiden Bryant], I was trying to get him to flip.”
On other schools reacting to his commitment to Miami:
“A couple schools still want me to flip, but I'm going to shut down my recruitment.”
“Definitely being a big contributor, they say me and Donte Wright might be the best duo since Bain and Mesidor. So I definitely want to live up to that.”
On teaming up with fellow DB commit Donte Wright:
“[Wright’s] pretty cool. He's really competitive, and I like that, we competed at basically everything we did [this weekend].”
“It feels amazing, it's hard work paying off. I’m glad we both were able to make the decision and I’m ready to work with him.

“They recruited me hard, they made me truly feel like I was the guy they wanted to go for. Some other schools just felt like they offered me just because.”
“Miami, they definitely made me feel like they want me to be here, so I feel like that was the best decision I made.
“It feels pretty good because, when you're in Alabama, you get an offer from Bama it’s like ‘Oh, yeah, you're going to commit to Bama’. But [myself and Jatori Williams] changing the front of that, definitely excited to make things shake.”
