Miami basketball sucks.

I know SFA is no stranger to the NCAAT but ... reality is they are pretty darn good. I watched the whole game. Not really a fluke at all.

Which begs the question, WHY is the SFA rotation that much better, all around, than ours? Not like we couldn't have likely recruited those guys.

To be fair, many higher tier schools could, and should be asking that same question. Also, there are many non-P5 teams better than a lot of "name" teams. SFA is hardly the only one.

Talent, athleticism and roster management issues aside, I see pretty much zero enthusiasm from the staff on the sidelines during games. It’s almost as if they’re going through the motions.

This negative energy seems to make its way onto the court and fuels opponents runs. Nobody wants to step up and we go on self destructing mopes.

Not sure what’s going on with Coach L. He’s a far cry from his dancing in the locker room days.

I read a statement in a Twitter article I read from one of the UM sites I follow (might even have been this one). On the state of UM athletics since the Butch Davis era. What it said was that Coach L actually had to email in his Wiki page to Blake James to be considered for the UM job. The writer said Blake had never heard of him.

I mean, if that is true ...

Not true, Larranaga and one of UM's Board of Directors were acquainted which got the ball rolling.

Outside of Alabama A&M and Coppin St do we have any other games we might be favored in? I see single digits in the win column, maybe 8. Will Coach L resign like Richt?

I thought I heard he was having back problems.

Gents, winning is irrelevant at this school anymore, from the BOT downs the only thing that matters is cashing ACC checks. The school has become a welfare / handout school. They will do the bare minimum to field teams.

I was **** on before the season when I had us in single digit wins. Curious to see how everyone feels about that prediction now
I predicted 19 wins. But from what I've seen, if Coach L sticks with his starters and they continue not to gel, win total will be closer to 10 than 20. Too bad you were right.

Miami will still win between 18 and 20 games this season. Miami Hurricanes Men's basketball does not suck, it is just mismanaged.

This years team is literally two good bigs away from being undefeated. Missing on Vernon Carey Jr was a tremendous loss compounded by the fact Caoch L did not use those two available scholarships on grad transfer bigs. Coach L's decision to start Sam and Rodney are literally holding the basketball program back. Add to the fact that Nysier Brooks is sitting out this season when he is a Rodney Miller clone does not help.

I have yet to figure out why Coach L changed from his most successful blueprint at Miami. The 2012-13 team had multiple bigs who could defend and rebound, big wings who could shot and defend and a point guard who could create shots and make shots. That team had plenty of depth as they used all 13 scholarships (if I am not mistaken).

The ball screen offense is ok but it is not attractive to big men who want to get the ball on the low block nor any big in the top 50 who has an offensive game.

The problems with the men's basketball team are easily fixable if the basketball coach would change his ways and get back to what made him successful at Miami.

Fans at Miami want and will support a consistent winner. A consistent winner of 20 plus games every year. It does not take three years to have one really good team anymore. That is an outdated philosophy that does not work at this level.

Currently our power rating is second worst in the conference, above only Boston College. But it's close to enough to 7 other teams that there's good chance we'll be favored in some of those home games.

There will be wins. This is the opposite of football. Nothing is as bleak as it appears. It's just that the front court is going to be so overwhelmed against any competent team there's no way we can fake anything and the margins will be considerable.

It is true. Also, UM doesn't have a Board of Directors. And while the Mas brothers went to Coach L's fantasy camp and recommended him to UM, he still had to submit an application.
