Jai Lucas went all in on Somto Cyril. After a successful first official visit weekend, the Miami head coach secured his first transfer portal commitment.

Originally from Nigeria, the 6-foot-11 big man has spent his last two years at Georgia, giving him two more seasons of eligibility. He used his 7-foot-7 wingspan to grab 5.4 rebounds and block 1.9 shots per game over the last two seasons, earning the 2026 SEC All-Defensive Team, 2026 Naismith Men's College Defensive Play of the Year Watch list, and recording 74 blocks this season, which led the entire SEC.

Very unlikely I think them leaving was a move from Jai Lucas and the staff they clearly didn’t think they fit and let them move elsewhere.

Dovrat had a role I think too. Second half of the season he had some big games

Minor. Had a good ACC Tourney game against UVA but didn't get off the bench against Mizzou. IU think we saw his ceiling.

 

His last 3 regular season games were impactful but let's not make like he isn't replaceable
