Miami is now third in the the ACC’s Coastal Division behind Georgia Tech (24-12, 11-7) and North Carolina (27-10, 10-8). It leads the league in team batting (.296) and is second in pitching (3.69 ERA). Its weakness: fielding, as the Canes are 12th of 14 teams in the ACC, with 48 errors.

How is it possible to be so bad at fielding? Everything else is heavily dependent on pure individual talent (pitching/batting). Fielding is something that just requires being fundamentally sound and practicing those fundamentals. Dont have to be an athletic superstar to keep the ball from rolling under your glove. Bad fielding is absolutely an indictment on coaching (maybe HC isn't directly responsible, but the guy he hired must be Jon Richt's baseball blood brother in terms of competence)
