Miami after 7 Games - Historic Look Back Over The Last 25 Seasons

Oh, you're on the one side or the other train.
ive said its both. the players haven't played well but I also believe theyre not put in the best spots. roosters fumble from UNC thats on him. it was the right play call. blowing the timeout before they ran that play after they had the entire clock and did a check w me for no reason? thats on coaching. Garcia just chucking up the ball against duke is on Jake. the fumble by rooster is on rooster. the issue is, we haven't stopped playing rooster since the fumbles occurred. we still roll 0 out there to miss tackles. we still haven't stopped running into the teeth of the line when we can't move the ball there and have no OL

That season is so **** similar. Close game against an SEC team at the start of the season. Plays a shockingly close game against Central Michigan, lost to FIU, lost to Duke, close loss to UNC. Beat up on Bethune Cookman.
The difference will need to come down to talent evaluation and landing enough talent OR history will have a rhythm.

give me a staff that isnt a stubborn mule after 9 months and knows how to make adjustments and we could be 6-1. how about an OC that isnt fighting w with fans on twitter, that isnt blaming every problem on WRs (you see hes not recruiting anyone else so hes absolutely sucking it up and stealing money), how about a DC that still can't figure out how to defend a draw play, a QB coach that can actually work on QB mechanics and progress them, OLs are just injured so thats the only pass Ill give. I forgot the DB Coach - all his dudes suck and hes terrible at recruiting too

I get your point but I will give Mario the benefit of 3 years to get this corrected and his track record at Oregon.

Those other bums were never head coaches at any other program before Miami (except Folden) and after Miami for a reason.
My friend i know what you mean.

We should see some improvement already. In some area.

I do wonder if certain players are still playing to prove a point or just hoping that they play up to their talent because there is no one else.

You obviously make some solid points regarding the coaching and players and I believe certain will definitely overtake others in due time and it will also justify the upcoming exit for a large number of players.

Like get the **** out of here with Franklin, Key Smiff, one of the guys I stood up for in Tae, etc, etc.

My man, this is bigger than anyone is giving it credit for.
we looked like **** on offense before the OL started dropping like flies lol. I would say yes its a huge issue but we were being square pegged round holed before that. it was going back to the spring. smarter coaches make the adjustments then when there is still time not in the middle of the year when you finally realized what fans could see

well Mario better get on it. hes got a good OL class but this class like the others have glaring weaknesses and we need to fill them up asap
Recruiting starts in November and ends in December. Everything leading up to now is relationship building and positioning. While the product on the field hasn't looked great, there are a number of other things to sell so Mario the closer better bring his A-game cause Mario the game day coach needs it.

recruiting starts in the spring. it doesn't start in nvomeber. ask @Cribby @Liberty City El. if you are starting in November, youre ****ed. a lot of kids have used OVs in the summer to focus on football. in the fall, youre essentially confirming what you sold them in the spring and summer w on field play. we have a great OL class. we have a poor WR and DB class. its been that way. we aren't magically closing in on guys that told us to **** off and committed elsewhere (innis, Tyler Williams, jean, Williams, ****ey, etc.)

relationship building and understanding how kids will make their decisions happen over time. Closing (real recruiting) happens in the next two months. From a sales POV (activity->opportunities->sales), the staff should have been very active over the last 10 months building relationships and understanding what the kids are interested in buying. Opportunities are the kids that match our needs AND are interested in what we are selling. Sales = closing the deal which is the real recruiting as anything that doesn't land kids doesn't matter! IF Mario doesn't land the kids, you will label him a bad recruiter and if he does land a great class he is labeled a good recruiter. You can't expect to land a good class if you haven't done the work BUT you also can fail to close even if you have done the work.

you realize how soft this schedule is right? you realize we are 3-4 w a blowout loss to Duke at home and MTSU at home (both blowouts). we can accept 4-3 or 3-4 even if you aren't getting your **** shoved in the same way week after week against bad teams. we all clown Manny Diaz bc he lost to fiu duke and la tech. **** man, golden boy over here is about to finish that combo this year except not even be in a one possession game at the end with any of those teams lol
Yeah, and not only that, we have a multi-million dollar staff to back up this wonderful season and we even have the honor of paying and $1.5 Million to receive the absolute worst *** kicking we have had in the past 50 years!

UVA & GT look like our most winnable games left.

Since joining the ACC we're:

3-5 @ UVA
4-4 @ GT

2013, 2017, and 2020 were fluke seasons. Team got exposed late in the year and played in close games basically all year. Miami was also 5-2 in 2010 not 6-1...losses to OSU and FSU.

Our opponents thus far have a combined record of 25-25. What a daunting schedule.
