A quick update following Miami's 47-10 demolition of Duke:

*in the last twenty five seasons - including 2021 - two ended after eleven games (1997, 2020).

Points For: Today's offensive output moved the 2021 Hurricanes to 7th most prolific offense in the last twenty five years*. Since Van Dyke took over, the offense is averaging 36 points per game in Power 5 contests. Miami finishes the regular season averaging 34 points per game.

Points Allowed: The 10 points allowed was Miami's lowest since Central Conn State, and it was enough to move the 2021 Hurricanes back behind the 2012 Hurricanes to second most generous in points allowed. The Hurricanes completed the regular season allowing 29 points per game.

Duke: The series has been marked by substantial margin of victories for Miami. The Hurricanes have won by 19 or more points in four of the last six victories.

Additional fun facts:
- Florida finished off the Seminoles to end up 6-6. Their 27 points per game was two better than the Hurricanes, but offensively they finished behind Miami by 2
- FSU is bowl ineligible for the fourth straight season. Defensively they allowed 27 points per game - like the Gators. However offensively they lagged a touchdown behind the Canes at 28 ppg.
- If we isolate to Weeks 5 - 12, where Van Dyke took over against Power 5 opposition, the Hurricanes offense in 2021 would rank as the fourth most productive in the last twenty five years with 288 points scored. That is only eclipsed by the 2000 squad (305 points), 2002 team (317 points), and 2001 team (337 points).
- Meanwhile in Austin, the more well-funded but bowl ineligible Texas Longhorns not only have two fewer wins than the Hurricanes this season but have an even more generous defense (32 points allowed per game versus Miami's 29).
