No dude , I love you man! But how can you bet against the Canes?? I mean ****, hard for me to consider myself a fan and yet bet against my own team. Creates a conflict when watching and rooting for who you want to win.@Novacane32000 you got something against me?
Anyone betting on this team giving points is either nuts or filthy rich with money to burn...
Lol of course I want them to win. I mean I took FSU cuz I knew no way Miami would win by 14. Those games are always close. Last year I knew Wisconsin and Clemson would beat Miami. Just the way things went after Pitt. Same thing this year, I think Miami wins tonight but not by more than a td.No dude , I love you man! But how can you bet against the Canes?? With Rosie at QB? Nah lucky to even get past 14 points
I see your point especially if you gamble for a living. As a fan first and a gambler 2nd I have never bet against the Canes. No it doesn't. Not if you do it often enough and if you bet enough games in general. I've bet against the Canes dozens and dozens of times. But I've rooted for them every time within that sample. When I was full time in Las Vegas I might have 40 or 50 wagers on college football games on a given Saturday. Volume and an edge. Rooting against your money in one of the games was no big deal at all. That one game was not going to be decisive toward your bottom line.
Now, if someone ignores volume and an edge and somehow decides to cherry pick one or two games per week, then I could see how wagering against a favorite team is problematic.
I don't know one successful sports bettor who bets a low number of games. When you do that the luck factor is simply too much of an issue. A poorly officiated game or fluke touchdown can ruin one wager but if you bet 40-50 games it's going to blend and balance. Besides, wagering on more games allows a bettor to beat the price on game after game, raising his theoretical edge. Half point here and half point there.
