Miami 247 Recruiting Ratings - Linebacker Edition (2023 Version)

It's just a ridiculous number of players to sign at one position - you do that and you severely impact recruiting the following year. You potentially set up the conditions where they all leave at roughly the same time, meaning that you have to try to do the same thing again in three to four years and thus perpetuate the cycle.

It's like signing 5 quarterbacks in one year.
I believe Randy signed three quarterbacks that year to go with seven wide receivers and two (wtf?) fullbacks.

He did - Jacory Harris, Cannon Smith, and Taylor Cook.

Entering 2008 we had four roster quarterbacks.

Marve transferred in early 2009. Then at the end of summer camp, Smith and Cook also transferred the same day, leaving Miami with just one scholarship quarterback to enter the 2009 season.

Ridiculous.

If you think about it, except for OL (which is ironic), we have been at pre-Schnelly levels of NFL talent at all positions. I know coaching matters, but we have been at a talent deficit for a long time.

And all busts other than Spence. Benjamin had a nice nfl career at least and his college career was adequate I guess.

Nahhhh, Arthur Brown ended up having a nice career at KSU, was always in Shannon's doghouse at UM for whatever reason...Telemaque & Buchanon had solid freshman & sophomore seasons under Shannon...Forston had a solid freshman season but He ended up having an injury plagued career...Streeter finished His career here on a high note under Golden, He was another one that was always in Shannon's doghouse.

I don’t think AB was in the dog house they said he had trouble with the scheme. Remember it took sometime for him to adjust coming from Kansas. I think he unfortunately got into some trouble before he left. Fortsn, actually had a strong junior year. The defense in 2010 was good but Jacory had a bad year. Streeter came on late. He should have returned. Some players start off slow. They aren’t always in the doghouse.
